That's interesting. I always thought parents would sign so that they could communicate with their deaf child. Then again i guess it depends on what the parents believe, I know even if i was not learning sign language know i would to be able to communicate with my child.

It would make for a better temporary solution. The parents know their own child, even if they dont have any official training. I hope it all works out.

i have had moments similar to that of thinking someone is saying one thing and in reality saying something different. Although usually they don't make any sense at all to me. One reason i am learning sign language, then i will know exactly what people are saying.

We have signs up in the neighborhood saying deaf child in the area please drive with caution, to help prevent people from being run over my vehicles. I never thought i would appreciate them as much as i do today of at least knowing people will drive with some caution.

Ouch that sounds painful. I have noticed that i rely on my other senses a lot more since the hearing loss. Caution is definitely needed in the every day life.

You should not be ashamed of it. i am bisexual and probably just a lesbian waiting to emerge, and i embrace it not hide from it. I do have to hide from it however at school becuase i go to a catholic university. But everywhere else i am not ashamed and would never hide the girl friend.
