    Just thinking...

I started to think about police tasers the other day, in light of a story about a deaf man being tasered after he repeatedly told the police he is deaf: <br>http://www.kwch.com/global/story.asp?s=7446220 Would being tasered have an adverse affect on CI's and other electronically implanted...

    Cochlear Implant Last Weds...

Well, my ear hurts more because when the doctor went in, he found a lot of scar tissue from my first ear surgery that was impeding his work. When he cut away at some tissue (to reach my cochlea) he accidentally cut my ear canal. The pain is starting to subside when i sit still for a long period...

my option that is depend on want to good cochlear implant

My parents (and family) had to pay for my cochlear implant. My insurance company refused to pay for my right ear to be implanted because of "rollback options." What was infuriating was no changes in coverage were ever mentioned or indicated. I am glad so many have had good coverage by their...

    Cochlear Implant Last Weds...

Hi, I got my cochlear implant on weds. The only complication from the surgery was that my ear canal was cut when the doctor found and cut away scar tissue from my first ear surgery. Don't you hate it when hearing people being ignorant about deaf customers?

I am a deaf cashier... I think it's more of hearing customers being ignorant about deaf people. I have had everything happen to me, from "sympathy" hugs to having the police called in my defense... It's ridiculous. People don't get it.

    deaf/late to work

I got the sonic alarm clock, and while the vibrating part worked, i used it + the light, but it really wasn't too effective if i was in a deep sleep... I don't even wakeup during minor earthquakes. So that's happened a lot. Get a better alarm clock, like the light ones. The light is annoying...

    Hello!

Hi everybody! I'm kind of nervous about being here, so I'm going to go with the name Elizabeth... Elie for short. I'm a 17 year old oral deaf... I wear a hearing aid and do not sign fluently. I've been out of the deaf world loop for a couple of years and missed it, so here I am. :D
