^Nah keep it college age and below, so allow 30 year olds, but generally try to center it at 21-34 years old.
I am 17, and HoH, I noticed your name is Shoshanah, :) same name as my mother and it's hebrew for the word "rose".
Lol I am skeptical of this plane offer, since it has no links, no reputation and they seem to be doing massive marketing with only 500 people actually benefting.
Disgust is a harsh word, because these benefits are given to the deaf as part of the Disability ACT, and while I don't know your personal opinion, plenty of deaf people deny deafness as a disability.
That said, why do HoH need to socialize with deaf people to begin with? They go thru extra...
I've read entire Torah about 3x, and half of this protestant bible and koran. :) it's too complex to compare and contrast. It's like explaining algabraic geometry to an undergraduate student.
I generally agree with you, there are 1500 schools in NYC, the majority are crap, and like you said, don't serve the needs of BOTH dhh or even hearing students.
If you can find a good dhh school, go for it!
As politically incorrect as it sounds, generally a teenage male will enjoy sex with almost anyone, and does not face any of the emotional traumas of having a baby or the likes. Also, no male teenager would be looked down upon, while a girl would be considered a slut. I personally do think if it...
^That is a horrible thing to say. Yes his parents were not careful, but you can never ever ever blame them for something so horrible like this. They were not ASKING for their son to be murdered by leaving him unsupervised, especially in that neighborhood which has one of the lowest crime rates...
It really depends on the students, and the quality of the available education. in NYC for me, the deaf schools are not that good, and there was little emphasis on reading or math, so my parents crossed it off from their options. I did very well in mainstream school, and can speak more coherently...
^I saw what some of the other posters said, and yeah I can see why they don't like the message so much, :P I personally still think it's cool, but I the other poster's points are well taken.
I get the gist of your message, but I myself was confused, because a troll is someone who purposely tries to act stupid or sarcastic and posts comments to instigate other people, like I am a major troll at times, I'm trying to be less of one, but still yield the fact that Madison was in no way...
So many nasty attacks on each other, not going to even digest them, but can we all just chill and take a break?
I thank the poster who created a new thread relevant to the discussions here, that was the best course of action here, :)
I'll just say, the word hearing is used in a very negative context, rather than just saying they even exist. Look at the the very title of this thread, tell me what impression it makes?
I really don't get how Madison is a troll...he is asking why we generalize?
There are jerks that are deaf, not deaf and vice versa, I see what he means by we are all the same? I feel that way too, albeit I do live a very secluded life style that many deaf people live in.
I say this...
I don't really see that, unless you are referring to my comments and such, but I am not hearing...so now what? lol. I think Madison was trying to be honest in his question
