It isnt that, it takes time to blend in, don't force yourself in. I learn the hard way, very embarrassing! Deaf people in general can sense it of what u are doing, so they react to that. After a few months of going to deaf events in my area, things are smoothing out and I feel more included...

One things about bears, if they hear you far away, (most of the time and depend on the breed)they move away from you. Thats why they tell hikers to wear a bell with them. When you surprise a bear, that is where the trouble begin.
