Look At Me, Not My Disability!

Absolutely inspiring for multiple reasons..makes you appreciate what you have, not because it may be "better" than what those people have, but because it is uniquely your own and worth appreciating! Love yourself! Love others!

    What's your dinner tonight?

Oh no. I'm going to have to shield my eyes when someone's posts it. Mac and cheese...my only weakness :(

    Online Dating

I've been in a relationship with someone I met online before. We didn't meet on a dating site though. So the premise of our interaction began as platonic companionship. I think meeting someone online can provide a comfortable atmosphere to focus on conversation. I don't think virtual interaction...

    What did you learn today?

Ohhhh, I see. Perhaps you are not a type 5 then. The reason I make this point is because the enneagram is based on motivation rather than behavior. Type 5s are actually very sensitive and to cope with this, they detach themselves. A lot of the tests to determine type focus on behavior rather...

    What did you learn today?

I think that can be frustrating for you and people of your type. They often feel they need to be the "pillar of strength" and they are seen that way by those around them. It can become somewhat of a pressure to remain strong and assertive so often that they don't trust others to give them...

    What did you learn today?

Fours on the outside seem very unique and emotionally sensitive, but on the inside they are as strong as steel. Incidentally, eights have the opposite trait. On the outside, they show a strong, stoic face to the world- but internally, they are very sensitive. You both have very similar...

    What did you learn today?

OHHHHH NOOOOOO! Yes, I find getting into e-books more difficult than paper books too. However, sharing books online is easier if they're not paper...usually. :p

    What did you learn today?

Oh my goodness! I actually get along with type 8s the best. One of my best friend is a type 8 and he is actually very into Enneagram. If you find yourself becoming more interested in why these things apply to you, I can send you an e-book on Enneagram. :D

It sounds like you must be overwhelmed with all you have on your plate, so thanks for sharing your story and giving us some of the leftovers to work with. I actually have personal experience with a case of needing a IEP instead of a 504. Like I mentioned earlier, this is going to be an uphill...

    What did you learn today?

I've been studing enneagram theory on personality and today I learned some of my major motivations are indicative of a type 5 personality. I have suspected this in the past, but now I am certain. It is now time to focus on building the strengths of a type 5 (myself)!

Does anyone else here enjoy words?

I love words! I think Scrabble is so focused around tactics and I'm more of a strategic person, so I'm not AS good as I'd like to be. However, I always love me a palindrome. :D

    ASL vs SEE

Yes, I agree SEE is obviously not a language. But can you explain to me what you mean by "partially compatible"? Would the equivalent of SEE be something like speaking "Spanglish" (a combination of English and Spanish)?

    ASL vs SEE

Forgive me if this topic has been brought up before, but what are the reasons many prefer ASL over SEE so strongly. I am hearing so my main mode of communication is through spoken English, but I am curious if this has an effect on the way I possibly understand ASL vs someone who isn't hearing...

Good luck turning your 504 into an IEP. The school may try to resist to save themselves funding and whatnot, but keep fighting! And yes, the school should provide a terp upon request.

    Anime & Manga talk

I've never really had the chance to get into anime, but my friend recently showed me this show called Deathnote and I thought it was awesome. It had the premise of "What if you could kill anyone, would you?"
