[VIDEO] Cued Speech (ASL, English Open Captions and text transcript)

Cued Speech in a Weekend? In a weekend? I sort of find that easy to believe, because I've heard stories of parents who take cue cards home and cue to their children. In six months, their children have an extensive vocabulary.

Your employer let you use VRS at work?

ISDN Videophone and Paul Singleton Wow, I'm surprized they didn't provide an MM225. No, I can't say that I do know Paul Singleton. My real question is, why do you need an IP videophone? Is it hard for you to get through, to an interpreter? Do you want to call other IP videophone users?

Captel with Vonage and vs VRS That was a probelm with your Vonage service. You should have contacted Ultratech about that. Here's what you can do, to get your CapTel to work with Vonage. Remove any routers, existing house wiring, splitters, etc. and ensure the Vonage adapter is connected...

[VIDEO] Cued Speech (ASL, English Open Captions and text transcript)

Cueing Friends Thanks for your feedback. Like I said, that transcript took me literally all day. I understand we have many DeafBlind members, so I created the transcript. Interesting, I've never heard of MMS, other than picture messaging (Multimedia Messaging Service). What is MMS? You know, I'm...

The Benefits of Captioning for Hearing People

You're welcome, Southern. That's a good question. CC1 is the standard closed caption. It is the first stream. There are four streams CC1, CC2, CC3 and CC4. CC1 shares badwidth with CC2, and CC3 shares bandwidth with CC4. Since they share bandwidth, the FCC reccomends foreign language...

    VLogs with(out) captions

Not the point Richard, that is not the point. Deaf bloggers do not have to be English "literate" to put "captions on their vlogs in the near future". They can use the resources available to them, such as VRS and IP-Relay, to do it themselves.

    VLogs with(out) captions

Collated text transcript If text is betweent the embed tags, of a video, your screen reader and/or dynamic braille display will display the text, instead of content between the tags. If the video has open captions, such as subtitles that are hardcoded or "burnt in" to the video, then your screen...

    VLogs with(out) captions

Richard, you have no idea. Richard, you obviously have no idea what resources Deaf people have available, these days. Deaf people use VRS to leave themselves a voicemail. When they reach their voicemail, they can sign whatever they want, and the interpreter will voice it. When they're done, they...

    VLogs with(out) captions

MAGPie is evil I recommend against MAGPie, simply because the program is full of bugs, and a 13-year-old could write a better program. Instead, use Aegisub. You can export your captions to SRT and upload them to Google Video.

    am i really supposed to??

Sex interpretation Southern, sweetie, when I'm with my Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing/Oral Deaf/Latened Deafened/DeafBlind friends, I always intepret everything, a lot of times, to the distain of the Hearing people, "No! Don't don't interpret that!" I remember, one of my DeafBlind then-friends, Barry...

The Benefits of Captioning for Hearing People

DVDs without CC Stas, dre you watching the movie on DVD? Many DVDs do not have Closed Captions. Instead, use the DVD menu to display captions in the form of subtitles. Many DVD with English subtitles for English spoken dialogue also have the audio information, such as noise in the film.

What is gratitude? (This is a must to see)

Handouts do not help homeless Shel, I agree with you 100%. When I lived in Chicago, a lot of the merchants posted flyers in their stores, "Handouts do not help the homeless!" with a logo showing a symbol of a person handing money to a person on the floor, surrounded by a red circle and slash...
