I guess I can see how some people might take that phrase rudely, like "nice shirt!" meaning your shirt sucks or by extension the team sucks. Beating someone over it is monumentally stupid though.

Excellent suggestion on a practice word, it's actually a pretty fun one to spell lol. Generally what I do is when I have nothing to do, I'll fingerspell things around me (to keep it random). Good luck! :)

If they are doing huge group interviews and trying to get 700 people looked at by August...a one on one is probably a good sign.

700? For one location? Where I used to work I scheduled interviews all the time and we maybe pulled in 25-50 people in one hiring round. 700 though, wow! Here's to hoping you get it though. :)

I think sometimes people do group interviews where they also want to see how easily you talk to other people and associate with them, especially if the job requires you to do so as well.

I'm heading back to school for a possible Master's/PhD so I'll totally feel your pain in a few years. My problem is that I need to work on grammar and receptive skills, which is difficult to do when you teach yourself!
