Also...getting an ASL dictionary to teach yourself some simple signs (timeout, bed-time, mommy, daddy, sister, please, thank you) can help alot. As parents we are all here to help you when ya get stuck. Good luck!
If they are fluent in ASL then they shouldn't have any problem living on campus or making friends. Don't give up on your dreams. If you can make it DO IT!
If he responds to sign language then use it to talk to him & discipline him. I am hearing, my son is too. But he knew stop & no in ASL long before he learned any vocal words.

On moving with the cats:
Yes getting hard carrier would be good, also look into a small kennel as another option. Possibly if the cats aren't too big they can be housed together. There are pre-made cat litter pans at most stores. I am not sure...
Hearies are taught from a young age no to touch another they don't know. Also, IMO, the concept of personal space is not used as much with the deaf. Which freaks hearies out.
In my first formal ASL class, I remember the one student struggling with the WH? and Y/N facial expressions. On a snack...
Is this program in Florida only? If not what website is it? I'd love to know cause I am in dire financial straights at this point and I would love to not have to pay for anything any more than I have to. I already have 2 student loans.
I am thinking I am accident prone this week. First I cut my left index finger on Saturday. Then tonight I slip on some ice in front on my house taking out the recyclables, and land on my ass & right elbow. I am hurting something fierce with the pain radiating down my arm to my wrist.

I am trying to understand.... take your age + birth year + 111?
I get 2121. 37+1973+111= 2121
Without adding the 111 I get 2010....so last year would have been freaky LOL
