    Name sign question

Hi Kyle. Until I get to know a person I use what they have as their user name when they post. Kyleb. That is why I added the b.

True Kyleb. I think the OP isn't getting responses because there are some red flags in the post.

No one in Texas wants to hire an interpreter!

Yes. agreed absolutely. The language needs to be changed but getting legislators to do it is a frustration. I've heard the term intervenor before but do not really know what it means. Are they interpreters? Are they trained? or are they like me with some training but not an interpreter, just...

No one in Texas wants to hire an interpreter!

It was funny but strange when it suddenly popped up with your post :) Yes. Ohio certainly isn't perfect. Was he in the northern part of the state. I do know many D/deaf and Deafblind that protested and marched in northern Ohio because of a similarly arrogant doctor (as Lucia is describing) and...

Actually, where they weasel out of providing service is in the language. The word "may" in these documents is a very powful word that oft times places actual responsibility on a precarious area.

    SSSD parents drop suit

Have all the issues really been addressed? Have the Scranton School folks being hurt by this closing run out of money, attorneys, energy? I wonder if the SSSD teachers will be fairly treated for positions?

I don't know about Texas jillio but they are closing a lot of offices around here. I think they are referring people to the Cincinnati offices from here now. I don't know how they expect some of them to get there, 50 ish miles

    Deaf Children's Bill of Rights

Not offended at all Inge Jean. We were talking a little militant for a few minutes but I would gladly put on the comfy shoes, grab my sign, and protest for something as important as full access for all D/deaf children and adults.

Mrs. Bucket!! What happened to your beautiful picture? It is fine to be using folks as a sounding board as long as the person doing the sounding realizes they are doing such. None of us deserve to be treated in such a manner. I am glad you have gotten to know Lucia personally. I believe...

    Tax Credits for Hearing Aids

Someone may have already asked but ... Is this in addition to the benefit a person can get through VRS or instead of? If additional it would help a lot but if it is instead of then it will be less of a benefit.

Agreed. I do not think anyone here hates those who have chosen CI's for themselves after they have researched and made their own decision.

Poor Dreama may end up joining me on the ignore list. It is impossible to be sincere right now with Lucia. I tried. We are unfortunately her venting post/whipping boys, so to speak, right now.

I had forgotten about that. Do you like it on the East Coast better or would you rather be back there? I wonder because I have relatives near a town called Paulden(sp?) and when they come to Ohio to visit they talk about how overwhelmingly green it is.

Really, Wow, I didn't know that, the news always portrays the West Coast as so much more progressive than we easterners who are backward
