There are so many Deaf in Dc and around MD yet I can never find anyone that signs. I am 27/ f hard of hearing and just want someone to talk to that I don't have to constantly strain to understand the conversation. Even someone over skype. :)

Look into a program called typewell. I don't know if it's only used locally or all over but it was what my transcriber used in my classes. We both had a laptop and could communicate back and forth in real time during class...she then also emailed me the transcription of each class afterwards.

I'm from Maryland and was very happy to see this happen. Although there is still a long way to go because people have already started their next step against giving same sex couples the right to be married :-/
