The Lounge thread: Whatever you feel like......... Anything goes! Part XV

I'm very sleepy, it's just gone 6pm and I spent the afternoon napping. Got a busy week so I wish I could have done more today. Daystarnite, is that your job? I'd love to do something like that!

Pics of you - Part IV

Thanks violet! My mum doesn't like it..she kept questioning me today, what do you think job interviewers will think, blah blah...why are you doing it? She thinks I'm having some sort of mental crisis...fair enough, I'm prone to compulsive behaviour and changing my mind a lot..but it can never...

    abortion addict

Not abortion per se but the fact that she missed pills on purpose, to get pregnant, to have an abortion.

    abortion addict

It's sad to read, that she feels the need to use abortion as a method of self-injury. I agree with Jillio, it's not about contraception or access to abortion but mental health. I've had my own mental health issues and eating problems for a long time, and this part really speaks to me: "I'd...

    Happiness

JennyB's paper sounds interesting. I was looking online for the new model of HA I'm getting next month, and I saw similar adverts. The slogans came across as cheesy and insulting to me. For me, I get very frustrated when I can't understand speech when people are talking to me. That's the main...

    What are you thinking about?

I'm thinking about how I've felt tired and off and grumpy and just not right all day, and I hope tomorrow will be better.

Audiology appt today- Oticon Spirit in a month!

Hmm, I got DSA and I don't remember getting an audiogram, it was a long time ago though. Unfortunately the hearing aid fitting is with him, he was looking in the calendar on the computer and put the appointment under his name.

Audiology appt today- Oticon Spirit in a month!

I was thinking about that, since technically I didn't get referred in the first place, I just rang audiology and made an appointment. But, it's in a month- November 25th is when I go to get them- I'm excited to get my new hearing aids, and I don't really want to delay things or cause a fuss by...

    Good experiences at school?

I know this is an old thread, but I had very mixed experiences at school and this is really the only place people will understand. My hearing loss wasn't noticed until I was 4 (my mum said she never noticed anything) and for some reason unknown to me and my parents I didn't get any help at...

Audiology appt today- Oticon Spirit in a month!

Well, I don't have much money so there's no way I can afford to buy hearing aids- I'm on benefits of £200 a month at the moment, but yes I could buy coloured moulds. I just don't understand why he said I couldn't have a copy of my audiogram, or coloured moulds, when other people in the UK have...

    What are you thinking about?

I'm thinking about how I had a good time seeing my ex yesterday (John), but I'm very very tired and so glad I don't have to go anywhere until Tuesday. Violet, you're right- I gained nice clothes but I lost money! I wish I knew when I'm due to get my next benefit payment, as I'm completely...

    Please.....help me.

I'm sure your hearing is fine, but the only way to really know is have a hearing test conducted by an audiologist, not online but in person. It won't hurt, I promise! Then you won't have to worry about 'what if'. You sound very anxious. I have a lot of problems with anxiety and worry, so I can...

Would you like to have been a hearing person?????

I have a Philosophy degree, but it was a couple of years ago and I've forgotten most of it by now. It doesn't matter what you write, as long as you can back it up. Really? Monopoly money...? Humans are very strange creatures indeed. I see the OP has not responded. S/he's missing out on...

The Lounge thread: Whatever you feel like......... Anything goes! Part XV

It's Friday night here and I'm shattered, I spent the day with my ex after not having seen him (but still spoken to him) in person for 2 months- it was very emotional but we both had a good time. I'm so glad I don't have to go anywhere tomorrow!

    When did you come out?

Technically, I was 12 or 13. I said one day to my mum, I think I like women in that way. She then said that sometimes when we admire someone, especially older, it can feel like that- I felt brushed off and never mentioned it again until a few years ago. I knew when I was about 7 that I liked my...
