    What hobbies you have?

LDNanna, when I was little we used to go to my nannies and have sunday lunch every week. I loved it, and I can't eat sunday roast dinner anymore because it reminds me of her.

    How do Deaf people drive?

I do not understand people using phones while driving. Granted, I fiddle around on my iphone when I'm walking, but only when I'm walking slowly on a clear stretch of pavement. When I'm driving, I'm driving, and can manage chatting to my instructor, nothing more- if I whipped out my iphone then I...

"You know, you don't Really Have a Hearing Problem...."

Hugs, she sounds like she had no idea what she was doing. 'Probably just some allergy thing'....and I'm the Queen of England. 'You don't sound deaf!'- I would be thinking, lady, ONE of us is gonna be deaf by the end of this...*menacing look with sharp object*.. What organisation was this? Is...

What are you thinking about? Part II

I saw a notice in my local Tesco saying people weren't allowed to shop in pyjamas, and had to wear appropriate footwear! Lissa, good luck with your interview! You'll be fine. I'm wondering when my headache/stuffy head/fatigue will go away.

I learned that I get sunburnt after about 30 minutes of walking. Humbug!

    What did you learn today?

I learnt that what I thought was going to be a scary test at the drs was very quick and not that bad. I learnt that, although it gives me anxiety, it's better for me to leave my ex alone when he's asked for time/space to think about what he wants- I feel pleased when I manage to not pester him.

What are you thinking about? Part II

Thinking that I hope I have a good day today, depression/breakup wise and don't want to cry. Hoping I will be ok next Mon-Wed/Thu when I'm alone as I feel sad and lonely (parents are away, back tomorrow, then possibly away again).

    What did you learn today?

I learnt that being alone for a week with the cats is not as fun as it sounds- they're lovely, but I get so depressed being home alone. Off work atm feeling ill. I also learnt that just because my ex and I aren't ready for a relationship atm doesn't mean he doesn't care about me.

    To the hearing

My hair rustling against my HA mics is so loud and drives me nuts, especially when it's raining and I put my hood up on my coat- all I hear when I'm walking is SHHHHRSUSSSSTTTLESSSSSHHHHFFFFFFFZZZZZZ. I never hear it make any sound unaided unless I shake my head a lots and I hear a low 'thunk'...

    How do Deaf people drive?

Yes, I hear honks but it's never for me, it's usually someone honking to their friends. Other drivers flash at me when they tell me I can pass, etc. I did pull out a bit too far at a junction yesterday and a car was coming, so my instructor had to brake- I couldn't see the car, he said he could...

    What's your dinner tonight?

I had a spaghetti creation- spaghetti with a sauce/topping made from chopped tomatoes, red peppers, onions, garlic, cumin seeds, paprika and a little chili powder and sausage meat broken into pieces. I shouldn't have had seconds :-( but it was yummy.

    What did you learn today?

I learnt that I should probably stop having seconds, and that being woken up at 7am on a sunday by a miaowing cat is a good way to have a busy, but productive day.

Putting your deaf children in which schools...and why?

I don't have lots to say right now but am agreeing with much already said: RR, this bit strikes me: "And this is where they start to make "allowances" by mistake instead of accommodations , saying she is "doing well considering..." or that never mind that her exam mark in French listening was...
