    Kokunut, I KNOW what sensorineural hearing loss is and I definately know what progressive is, mine isn't and like another poster said, it's not ALWAYS progressive.

    I do have sensorineural hearing loss but if you look at my audiograms from 1998 my audiograms pretty much the same. It might be due to the cause of my hearing loss though.

    Christmas... ahhhhhh!!

    Family gatherings are the best(!) I usually just text my friends or use facebook on my phone since my family members know I won't be able to follow all the conversations, so I will talk to one person at a time if they want to speak to me.

    HAs FOR BABY BEFORE CI

    HA's are generally used for a while before CI's, in case the child is able to hear with them. I wore HA's from 1 year old until the age of 10 when hearing aids no longer worked for me. But while you're tryin decide on the implant or not stuff, give him language, teach him to sign!!

    My sister Jennifer, has picked it up from me, somehow. She's been able to read lips since she was little just like me.

    But I do leave my battery draw open every night on the hearing aid, cos thats the only way to turn it off so I'm wondering if power's going out quickly because of that
