    Adjustment to late onset deafness

Thanks again! I'm glad I've given such a good impression. Honestly, I'm very much still working through all of this, but I am doing better then I was! Thanks to you and many others on here.

Wa. State Has 1st Death Under State's Assisted Suicide Law

I have to say that, in this case, with there being so many steps and precaustions...that I think it makes sense. The pain these people must be in is unthinkable. They have to request it three times and have to think about it for a month between each request. I think it is very sensibly set up...

    Adjustment to late onset deafness

Words of wisdom, as usual. Now, if I can just consistantly put them into practice, we'll be set. *Smiles*

    Adjustment to late onset deafness

You make some really excellent points, and I agree with you for the most part. However, I would like to say that I don't think everyone will base their behavior towards other people on how those people feel about themselves. A lot of people do, of course, maybe even the majority. But I have...

    Adjustment to late onset deafness

Wonderful story! I wanted to thank you for the great point on being allowed to greive for our loss without being teased or worse. I can think of three or four Deaf people who need to have that idea stapled to the wall across their bed so they can be reminded every morning. And, you are right...

Bullying during or after education stages. Is it okay?

*Nods* Now I look back at the people who made me dread the morning (if it were a school day) and wonder what they went home to every day. I am convinced that they could not have gone home to a healthy, happy house. Something was very, very wrong. Only people who doubt their own worth, who are...

Bullying during or after education stages. Is it okay?

To answer the orginal question: absolutely not. Ever. As Jillio said, (loosely) Strength is not made by adversity, but it is discovered by it. I was bullied intensly as a child for many years in school. To this day I am painfully shy, have a very hard time around aggressive people, and have a...

    Accident

*Big, big hugs* I'm so sorry. It sounds like you and your husband are having a really tough time. I am so glad no one was hurt, though! I hope everything will buck up soon for you. In the mean time, you can always stop by my profile and rant at me if you want. I'm always willing to listen...

Hire a dog to find my hearing aid?

Actually, I think you probably could hire a dog to do so. Some dogs, particularly in the hound group have amazing scent-trailing capabilities. Since dogs have been hired to find bedbugs, lost people, and even to sense that an avalanche is coming, I think this is a perfectly viable option. Yes...

Mom Had Sex w/Dog, Child on Webcam

Disgusting isn't even the word. Disgusting is the word you use when you step in dog stuff or when someone sneezes all over you. This is wrong, disturbing, frightening, and sick. Think of that poor baby. I doubt the child won't be subconsiously affected by this for the rest of his/her life, even...

Aw. That's so silly. Well, we love you anyway. *Smiles* They don't have signs like that where I live that I have ever noticed...granted...I don't always notice things I should.

    'Nazi guard' deportation blocked

Oh, definately! I have no desire for him to go unpunished. I don't care if he's sick, or even that he's old, my point is simply that any 89-year-old, no matter how healthy they are, will probably not live another decade. Therefore, my thought is simply that it would be worse for him to go to...

I Use CC All the Time

Really? That's so cool. Makes sense but I had never thought about it before. So, maybe my baby will benefit from having them on the screen...though she isn't watching the TV until she's at least two.

    'Nazi guard' deportation blocked

You're right. Sorry about that. Anyway, yeah, I was wondering the same thing. That's why I feel so uneasy about this whole thing: I wish we knew what evidence had made them release him to begin with, and then to track him down again. I understand why you say 'eye for an eye'...in this case...

    Capd

I bet it feels amazing to have an idea of what is going on after all these years. I was far more forunate in that area, and was diagnosed as quite a small child. I have many of the symptoms you listed, and know that it is not easy to live with, but that there are things that can be done for it...

How long do you wear your HA/Ci's in a day?

I wear them all the time. They are the first things I touch in the morning, and the last thing I do before closing my eyes at night. True, they aren't as helpful by far as they used to be, but they do help some.
