    VRS spam mail?

That is not right, but I can't really complain I guess. Free services come with a price so I get what I paid (or not) for.

    Obsession on deafness or disability?

Yes. I've never said that deaf people were disabled, nor did I think they are disabled in the physical sense that they can't achieve something. I don't generally get this impression from other people on AD, including late-deaf. Anyway, this isn't the point of my topic, it's about being obsessed...

    Obsession on deafness or disability?

I didn't google anything below: deafness: a term to describe the ability to not hear to some degree disability: a blanket term, mostly on the context of legal and medical issues - created to classify condition (or conditions) that set back this person from the majority of that society who...

    VRS spam mail?

Did you sign up for VRS services online? I'm curious do you think they gave out your email address and give you spam mail? Last year I signed up for purple with an email account that I don't use for online registration. Since last year, I've noticed I have been getting a lot of spam mail every...

    Obsession on deafness or disability?

That is true, there is a presence of late deafened lately. It could be due to the diversification of AD in recent years. I think it's not so cut and dry anymore on AD where it used to be primarily ASL-only using deafies. Now we have the ASL-only, Oralism-only, hybrids who use both, CI groups...

    Obsession on deafness or disability?

Do you think there is a point where someone is too 'crazy' about their views or opinion on their deafness or disability? This can also apply to family like child, spouse, relatives, etc. Crazy enough that it becomes obsessive? I feel like I can see it going both ways on deafness issues, from...

Sticked for other members who may have missed it for now. If the staff deletes a quoted post, it will still show up in your quotes section but you won't be able to see it.

    Identifying minors on AD

It's not difficult to distinguish them by a feature, it can be implemented it by default based on the birthdate inputted in the user profile. However, wouldn't this also serve as a downside after they are singled out? The stalkers would figure out how to target them with much more ease. The...

helping my sister learn to speak more quietly

I don't know if you can train a deaf person to regulate their voice. It's not as easy as you think it is. On the other hand there are some apps out there that let you observe the sound. Below is a screenshot of Smart Tool's Sound Meter app. It's for android but I believe they may have an iOS...

If you were given the chance to start any career

I switched from IT field to intelligence, started a few years ago (2009-2010) it's been a journey but I like what I do a lot better. I always tell others who are unsure of their jobs - can you see yourself staying your field until you retire? If not, you should think about backup plans.
