    This is something I need to look into as well. I'm slowly losing all of my hearing, and I'd like to learn either BSL or ASL. I'm terrified I'll never be any good at it though.

    Why are you deaf?

    I was born with congenital hearing loss in low frequencies of about 30dB. Over the past year or so, I've lost more than 40dB in the low frequencies for no apparent reason. They except that I will lose high frequencies as well, and possibly be profoundly deaf by the time I'm 30.

    Well, I just kind of decided, really. I knew that I wanted to go far away for university, and in Scotland I would be able to study just mathematics and physics, and no other subjects. I also had some friends there, so that helped my decision.
