what's your experience with customer service/salesperson at any store.
is customer service helpful? friendly? rude? attitude?

sometimes customer service or salesperson can be rude to Ddeaf/Hhoh.
sometimes customer service or salesperson is not helping and ignore.

Ddeaf/Hhoh have the rights to talk to a manager, how they treat you.
but some manager did not really care about what happens to Ddeaf/Hhoh.

Yesterday a rude hearie bitch at Wendy's made me repeat myself a couple of times and of course she laugh. :rl:

Sometimes I have the same experience as Pepsi. When possible I just have a family member give my order.

I am so sick with relay if i am trying call pizza to order. Customer Service hung up on us because they thought we were sale person.

If you have Papa Johns pizza, they will take order over internet. No talking.

usually it's horrible.. since they dont make enough money so they dont really care. they still get same money if they're being real helpful or not. all they care is getting paid and go home...

just sayin'

Ordering online is a pleasant experience. Sometimes, I use the relay to bring exposure.

Domino's "tracker" seems to be time-based (like a timer) and not really a tracker.

All in all, you get what you pay for.

It varies. We all get different kinds of people.

For instance, I'd need to exchange an item I mistakenly bought at Walmart. I'd go to the customer's service and to sort it out. Most of the time, they are very helpful but I've been encountered with some salesperson or a representative who's attitude has not been so bright. These are just to name a few.

If they are rude, not helpful and not so patient then the job is not for them. As a last resort, I'd make a complaint and report it to the manager. If that doesn't work, go up on the ladder and talk to someone who is above them.

Yes, I think deaf/hoh people generally get a little more insensitivity/attitude from customer service, but some of these same customer service persons do the same to hearing people as well. Deaf/hoh people are not the only ones.

Yes i have called by using relay and they hung up on me... especially Health Dept. i called again and they hung up on me again. OH It pissed me off!! My mom called them and said she need your service and you hung up on her. She had to explain relay to them and told them that I am deaf blah blah. They didnt apologized to me. ugh. That was back in 2002. Jeez!

It varies by location.

In Rochester, most of the places give great customer service because they're understanding of the deaf community.

Where I am now, it actually varies because some people are patient... while others aren't.

I went to Taco Bell a couple days ago with my friend. When we approached the counter, the lady immediately offered a piece of paper and pen for my deaf friend to write down. That means she probably had experience with deaf customers before.

I don't use relay to order pizza anymore. I use pizza online to order. Wink
if you have the internet, there's no reason not to order online.

pizza hut, dominos, papa johns, etc all have better deals online, plus some of them have a "points" system they only use online where you get free sides once you order a couple pizzas.

some are really nice, and some are just downright rude. I've used relay to call T-Mobile a few times, and they've always been really nice and helpful every time when I had a problem with my SK. Have tried to call Sam's Club once via relay, they hung up on me as they're clueless about relay. My audiologist's office, there are receptionists there who are CLUELESS and uncomfortable with accepting relay calls. Everyone's going to have their own personalities and whatnot, and handle things differently.

I've gotten excellent service at Hot Topic here at the mall near me. The very first time I went there, this employee came up and spoke to me. I indicated that I am deaf. Immediately she knew what to do, she went and got paper and pen and handed them to me, and she was very helpful. I didn't even have to ask! She didn't get all flustered or insist on speaking like many other customer service employees usually do in many places. I was pleasantly surprised. She must have had some experience with deaf people before. Most just get all flustered and either didn't know what to do or insist on speaking. It's really that simple...paper and pen! It doesn't require a college degree to realize that all you needed was paper and pen to communicate.

And every time I've gone to that specific Hot Topic, the employees there always offered me paper and pen to communicate. I am impressed!

it must be worse for you guys than i thought if everywhere you go, no one realizes they can communicate with you with a pencil.

wow.

I guess I'm lucky that I haven't had experiences like this... but maybe it's because I have limited experience dealing with them.

My pharmacy is always helpful, especially on the rare occasions I go there by myself... One time I had bought a jar of peanuts (among other things), and ended up dropping the bag outside and the jar broke. One of the cashiers was having a smoke break out there I guess, and she saw it and went back herself and brought me a new jar for free.

Also where I used to live, there was a market that would help me get groceries... I could give them a list, and they would go get everything and bring it out to the cab or van for me, and I would pay them. Their pharmacy also delivered to homes.

Too bad more places aren't like that, I guess.

Yes right, I have done before with papa johns for order by the internet. It's easy. No need to call relay.

Not only papas john, it's also pizza hut and dominos too.

Sorry about your experience.

Same with me, I remembered a rude hearie person who says to me, "what?" and "huh? (with hearie's ears). I'm like, "never mind". I don't like when they repeat, "huh"? and "what?". I have hard of hearing accent. Some hearie understand me.

Most of the time, I use blackberry memo pad. Some hearie never see my blackberry memo pad before (oh, boy!).
