Hi, I myself am not deaf or have impaired hearing but my mother, who is 80, has. She is not completely deaf but is very hard of hearing. She does use in ear hearing aids but she has not found them very successful, however she does persevere. My advice is in relation to mum being able to listen to the TV. At the moment she can hear the TV if she has the volume turned up very high, this causes two problems in that the loudness is very uncomfortable for anyone else in the room and she is finding that the TV speakers become damaged.
I have tried her with surround sound which did not seem very succesful and I have tried her with headphones which seemed to work ok, the only problem with that is that no one else can then hear the TV as the headphones cancel the TV speakers.
My question is does anyone know of any cup type headphones on the market that have their own volume control but at the same time allow anyone else in the room to be able to listen to the TV through its own speakers.
I would just like to say that if I have written anything here that anyone finds politically incorrect I apologise profusely, I have just tried to state the facts as they are.
Thanking anyone in anticipation of any help
Simon
