I was at Wal*Mart a few days ago just browsing as I normally do every week.

This time, I came across a clearance section where they were selling stuff that they found in the back room or stuff they hadn't sold for a while.

In this section, I found a bunch of Spi-Dogs.

What's a Spi-Dog? Well, it's a specially designed i-Dog to promote the recent Spider-Man 3 movie. (There are actually 2 versions... red Spi-Dog and black Spi-Dog.)

Anyways, I thought... "Oh, nice." I looked down... "$9!?!?" So, I got it. These things normally cost $32.

It's a cute little thing that looks like a cute robotic puppy sitting down waiting for something. When you turn it on, lights will appear on its forehead. It will also start barking for music.

Yep, its true purpose is to enjoy music... hence the name... "i-Dog" (named after the i-Pod, a MP3 player). When you play music, it will shake its head to dance with the music.

The more music you play, the happier it gets. It will eventually learn to love the music that you usually play. When you're not playing music and you press its nose, it will tell you what its favorite music is.

It's a pretty cool little thing for those who listen to music and like little gadgets.

The picture in white is the original i-Dog. The picture in red is the one I have, the Spi-Dog. (It's actually 4 to 5 inches tall.)

Anyone have one?

They later came out with individual mini i-Dogs. These are the ones that have individual preferences for music. For instance, the one that is designed for rap will only enjoy rap. If you play something other than rap, it will whine and complain. They're a bit smaller and contain more plastic than the original design.

Recently, the came out with i-Dog Amped. These are a bit bigger and have a bigger/louder speaker on its back. It also moves its tail, nods its head, and taps its feet. The original simply shakes its heads sideways and lifts its ears.

Does it work like the real thing or does it just play its own little cute music?

Never mind... I looked it up. They don't dance to real music. They simply dance whenever you push a button. It's still cute though. :)

Oh, no... my Spi-Dog just turned off! I guess I forgot to play some more music for him! :(

I always try to avoid audio toys, since it's useless for someone like me. Also especially that I don't follow music at all. What else can you do with it?

Well, it's a product for those who listen to music. There are some deaf people who like to listen to music. :)

I know there are some deaf people who do listen to music. I just am not one of those, since I don't understand it.

It's pretty expensive toy (if not on sale or clearance) that does nothing, but listen to the music. Ha. ^^;

Well, it is also a mini-speaker for those who plug in their MP3 players to it. :)
