Few years ago, I did look at Alltel coverage map. Atlanta area such as Marietta, Newnan, and Decutar had 1xR11 whole coverage. Now, I got back to check Alltel coverage map update when they annouced that they offer Alltel broadband high speed EvDo last month. Technically, I saw that Atlanta area has whole EvDo Broadband high speed on the coverage map:eek3:. If I won't have AT&T 3G on my pc card from my laptop, I would try to test Alltel pc card next year.

Check it out:

I live in the NW Atlanta/Marietta area. I just checked this site, it seems that I can get high speed, not broadband where I currently live.

Alltell has some agreement with VerizonWireless to roam on their towers. Maybe they roam on Sprint/Nextel towers too.

I will just stay put with Cingular/at&t and T-Mobile. There is rumour that T-Mobile USA will roll out 3G nationwide sometime later this year (probably by Summer time.)

I checked the map for you. I see that Marietta has EvDo Broadband on the Alltel Coverage.

I just prefer to sticking with GSM for some reason, 1xRTT is alot worse and more slower than EDGE.

I love 3G from AT&T and it's damn faster for sure.

FYI.. Alltel have roaming agreement with Verizon for 1X data only.. They have EVDO roaming agreement with Sprint.
