I want to set up a video web cam to do real time signing with a friend from my PC. Anyone else try this before? Did it work well? Could you sign over it or was it too choppy?

Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated!

First of all, what kind of broadband are you using? DSL or Cable (It may not make any difference tho). Which CURRENT videochat software are you using now.

I avoids video chat on AIM, MSN, and Yahoo! cuz it's sooo choppy (public server that's why). I use oovoo.com and it was much better but they do get choppy once in a while but log off and log on would solve problem even rebooting system to clear that up. Oovoo.com do not need to worry about configuring gateway on router (run just like AIM same way).. I have Sorenson Envision SL downloaded from Sorenson VRS (click support tab and click Downloads). It ran smoothly BUT will not receives call if you are behind router, you'll have problem with gateway issue. YOu'll have to configure your router for Envision SL in order to receive call (my router is old and unable to get it configured :(:ugh: ).

Thanx

Very intruging! It's very much like teenager's webchat (not for me, I'm an old crank). When I clicked "Shows" and I spotted one girl "Chrissii Fox" from www.bebo.com in Stickam - The Live Community (or was a look-alike). My daughter use www.bebo.com daily and she showed me what's in Bebo (I was just making sure if she's not into something 'wink'). Plenty of girls in Bebo showing off their makeup and "pouf up" hairs ect.. teenagers huh!? I will ask her if she knew this girl.

I tried to find any other free webchat software other than oovoo.com, I couldn't find anything. Most webchat program require small fees to use.

OH!! also Skype do have free webcam program included. I downloaded and installed it few weeks ago but didn't use it cuz most of my friend don't have webcam tho. I was hoping my daughter can use it for chatting with her friend on Skype phone instead of using landline!! She said her friends don't know how to use it (aww sheesh!! Cmon it's soo easy to setup!!).

Anyone know of any FREE webcam chat software and it must have smooth video AND able to get around GATEWAY ISSUE!! (be able to receive calls from other)..

Thanx
