Interesting.. Since it use Windows Mobile 6, AIM, Yahoo and MSN will be included as an extra charge.
Windows Mobile 6 is an OS it not an software application but WM6 does come with some software application and since it from Microsoft I am pretty sure they are not including AIM, Yahoo on the WM6 however it does have Windows Live which have MSN with it and I believe the MSN uses txt msg not data internet to send and recieve messages.
It not an "extra charage" but you can purchase software for your WM6 and there are several Instant Message for WM6 that you can buy and install it on your PDA Even if you sold or give your PDA away you can remove it from your PDA and install it on your next new PDA since licence is lifetime purchase.
Some celll companies includes other apps like AIM or Yahoo or Music Store into WM6 for free to help sell PDAs better so you can check to see if it got them. Like Moto include Opera with their WM6 to encourage folk to buy their Q9h PDA.
I don't think it should be much.. What about PDF format if I'm using browser? Same as Java ect..
Same thing. Some you can download for free a PDF viewer for phone or purchase a better PDF viewer on WM6.
WM6 come with a browser PIE (Pocket Internet Explorer) but there are other browser you can download and use it on your PDA. Some browser have better java support than Pocket Internet Explorer like Mobile Opera but it cost to buy the software.
I would ask Tmobile if they charges for using it as a Phone as Modem.. Just wonder what are advantage and disadvantage on OSes between Blackberry Curve and Tmobile Dash and Wing???
I think the advantage and disadvantage on the OSes there is none but Blackberry uses it own BB OS and Dash uses SPWM6 (Smart Phone Windows Mobile) which have no touchscreen and Wings use WM6 (Windows Mobile) which have touchscreen.
For laptop connection, WM6 are easiest to connect and require no software installed on your laptop but Blackberry require a connection software installed on your laptop and Sprint are know to keep track of BB usage on laptop to charge extra for Phone as Modem BUT I do know Sprint deaf plane includes PAM (phone as modem) however I have seen several deaf people using it and still get billed for it. They have to spend almost every month on relay on phone to call and complain and make Sprint remove the PAM usage from their Sprint bills.
I believe there are lot more Windows Mobile or PPC software applications you can download for free or buy and try. Many different video player or tv viewer or games etc. There are many Blackberry software application out there but I believe WM have the most avaiable out there.
I have USB bluetooth dongle that I bought it in Ebay for my laptop (can be my desktop too). It use Bluesolei 2.6 driver from IVT (It's compatible with Linux tho). I got a good idea on how bluetooth works.
Thanx
Catty!
Bluetooth are nice to have but remember when bluetooth are enabled it drain the PDA battery quicker than normal.
