online xbox360

Now that my son is not here til Wednesday so I can mess around with. LOL
 
I think you may want to upgrade to DSL, so you and your son can share the internet with less or no problems. I am not suure though, I just know I can use XBL and VP at same time.

If I was you, I would prefer to get cable because of no router function in cable modem, that means enable on port forwarding is work so properly and NAT is open, when with DSL, you have 2x more router function, that's which is not good, unless when you disable on DHCP server, sometime, connection can be lost or lagged, even cause few media to not work so properly then I had hit hard restart button to clear everything.

Download was pretty so slow on DSL than cable does, plus cable has more bandwidth than DSL as well, there's alot of people are playing xbox live so successful on cable, I had received many of suggestion about NAT to be open, none of them are help to solve the problem, I know it was solve the issue for cable since some of functions in DSL need to be disable, is it easy to tell or fix, it's not...

I had used on both of cable and DSL, I picked cable as #1.

Both have advantages and disadvantages. It also seems that not a lot of people have the choice of either DSL or Cable. It also ends with the argument that it really depends on where you live.
From what I read, I think I'd still prefer DSL, I don't want to share my internet.

I second that! Plus, More..more..more cable users switch from cable to DSL, TODAY! They prefer using the HSI DSL over HSI cable for easy to use, affordable, and very reliable!

I had use both of DSL and cable, DSL (AT&T) from relative's house and cable (Roadrunner) from my parent's house, both of them are difference, cable is usually more faster for download the stuff to desktop (not load the page on browse) since DSL is so slower, not nearly to true speed, I was checked on your link and said DSL is more slower when you are so far from telephone companies, that's true because you don't get true speed or full speed. I had experienced on both of them, I picked cable at overall, just more than speed.

Only usually in out of most suburb or rural area are offers exclusive to DSL, I wouldn't live in if they don't offers cable, even when I would live on own.

Not going to debate with you, it's just my preference, if you pick DSL, that's fine. :)

I see. Since I live in a heavily populated area, it is better to go with DSL, but If I lived in the country, I'd be better off with Cable? Seems to make sense to me. One of the downsides to cable is sharing internet, and that is a big no-no for gaming, so I prefer DSL.

It don't matters where are you live, It's your preference to make choice but both are pretty mixed in review, some cable companies are put extra more stuff to reduce of conflict when area is very overcrowded, high demand to own cable, plus you make some good experiment.

That's what I was found from few members were talk about new stuff to add in cable to prevent any reduce of speed when alot of people are online, I'm currently use DSL right now, it has been for 1 year because of relative's decision.

Actually, it does matter where you live for best choice. DSL depends on distance from where it starts. The further away you are from where it starts the slower it will be. If i knew i was within a mile of where DSL starts, I probably would choose DSL. However, that is far from norm. Cable doesn't matter distance wise. The more people that are using broadband, it does slow down. However, they are able to really put on speed on cable. I can get 10 Meg a min download if i am willing to pay for it. I do not know of DSL that can get that speed. The odds of everybody being on cable internet at same time is slim, it always varies from min to min so it evens out. I am using cable and I rarely ever see any slow downs and I am not even on highest speed. I chose lower speed cause I didn't want to pay top dollar for it.

I don't think that you understand about what I was said, when one person was talked about urban, high population then he would use DSL and rural area should use cable at choice, I was said it don't matters where area are you from, I told it's his choice, not mine.

In common, DSL is exclusive (means no cable) to rural area, some are none but dial up or satellite internet.

I think it was mostly likely to be your VP issue, need call VP tech center for more info on solve the issue, I cannot help on between Xbox 360 and VP because I never use VP.

That much is true. At least today, we do have more competition than before. However, some areas could stand some improvements.

Before I moved to a new house I had metrocast and my son didnt have problem even if I have vp. Then after I moved there is a problem with it. GRRRRRR I have now times warner.
