My son had a system of xbox360 and always play game online. He did once plug the cord into the router and ended up having go offline by itself and come back on so many times. So he uplug my cord from the modem and plug his cord from the xbox into the modem so I cant get online on my laptop or anyone try to call me or/and cant call out since I do have digital phone. GRRRRRRRRRRR at my son and trying to figure out so that we can go online at the same time. without interruption.

Please help.

Get a router.

Banjo, I already have a router *2 of them* One for the phone and another for my vp. My son complaining that if he plug it into the router then play but will get disconnected and had no choice but to unplug the cord from modem and then plug his game system into the modem and I have no way to make a phone call or get online from my laptop.

I am trying to find another way to be able get it online at the same time

What's name of your router and firmware version?

Are you use cable or DSL modem? If DSL modem then DCHP server need to be disabled due router feature is included.

Some firmware version can cause an issues in Xbox Live, need upgrade into correct firmware version.

I use D-link router

There's have 4 plugs.. goes to two computer and goes to xbox and vp too..
Running sound "Purring"

Sorry, I didn't read carefully enough. Anyway, it doesn't make any sense why that would happen.

But again, we're talking about a Microsoft product.

Are you saying I got go into the xbox.com to upgrade the firmware??

Oh. so upgrade my dlink?? I found out last nite from my son. He was telling me that the game was going so slow and sometimes goes offline for no reason and loading taking too long. so that the problem.

Is there other router that I can get to get all online at the same time??

Just went into dlink website and there is no firmware available at this moment.

router with two ethernet ports available? I don't know if I have seen that kind router before. Maybe it's ancient?

aren't you use Voip as telephone service?

What kind of ISP that you use? DSL or cable?

Both are different methods to fix it.

I use a DSL router, and hook it up to a Wireless Linksys router, which also has 4 ethernet 'out' ports. My roomie uses VP and plusg it into the Linksys, and I was amazed when I experienced no slowdown in my gaming. I usually prefer only one device is on the internet at one time, but I cannot control everything. I also use a WiFi device on my 360, which may be why I am able to use the internet at the same time someone is using the VP.

May I recommend going to Best Buy, Circuit City and explaining your problem? A sales assoicate may be able to help you understand what you need to do to solve this problem. It is possible you need a better router to service all your needs. Be sure to bring the type of router you currently have as reference and to help the sales assoicate or technican understand the problem.

Yes I am using voipyourlife for a telephone service.

Start with 1st optional, you need check on router setting if UPnP is enabled or not, if not then turn to enable and check NAT if open, moderate or strict, only check NAT can be found from xbox live test on xbox 360, if it doesn't work then goes to 2nd optional.

2nd Optional, You need enable on port forwarding, just goes to this site.
PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall

You need set the static IP that's match to router and use IP for Xbox 360 should be 111 or over, not to be conflict with computer or other media stuff, they are using in 100 to 110, before put in port forward on router and check this site that I gave to you, there's couples of code that use for xbox live, just goes to router then go to xbox live then put static IP from Xbox 360 into box, same as applied to router setting.

If not work then goes to 3rd optional, enable on DMZ and use static IP from xbox 360, needed be set on xbox 360 for static IP but other info about IP can be found in router setting or command shell from windows.

:eek3: That is lot of work man!!!!
