Never ever declaw a cat...

But many US websites agrees with other many countries and hopes declaw will turn into illegal.

I personally prefer adopt the pets from shelter, stray or families who can´t keep them because they need loving home.

What´s the wrong to train the pets to do and not do instead of make choice euthanize or declaw them?

Hmmm...look at it from this perspective or view--those people who have been amputated...now, is that a form of abuse? Nah...didn't think so. ;)

I mean to amputate part of human and animal body with no reason is a form of abuse, not illness like cancer, accidents, etc. where the human or animal suffers. Is it what you trying to tell me? Please correct me if I misunderstand you.

I believe that it isn't inhumane or cruel if you take care of finding a good vet and taking care of the wounds after the surgery.

Will front claws protect them from being run over by a car? That's how most runaway cats die.

I did rescue and adopt them. I've had some declawed and some not. The declawed cats were just fine. If you don't believe me, fine. I don't have to prove anything to you. :)

California passes many laws that other states don't pass. It means nothing to the other states.

Humans don’t ask for their fingertips to be amputated and neither does the cats or any other animals.

If humans and any animals are in a need of an amputation for a medical reason to avoid having their limbs gangrened then it is for a very good reason. An amputation to save a life is necessary but to prevent a human or an animal from destroying things is not necessary at all.

I am not trying to start a war in here but I am just expressing my concerns and sympathy for these cats that were not so lucky after they were declawed.

Liebling’s cat was almost killed by another animal and her front claws saved her life. She is not saying that a car killed her cat because it had claws.

At least there are a lot good hearted people out there who agree that declawing is inhumane thing to do.

Haven’t you looked in these websites to read what several other cat owners went through after they had their cats declawed? My Aunt was so heartbroken after she lost her cat to infection it had from the declawing. She never fully knew the full procedures of the declawing because her vet never told her. She only learned more about it after her cat died. Again, NOT ALL declawings are successful. I refuse to take a chance to have my cat declawed because it may not be successful for her.

I'm just saying that front claws aren't a guaranteed protection for runaway cats.

You are right but what some of us are saying is that the front paws are the most needed when it comes to their defense from other animals.
