Quiz contest for question to answer games and win before?

We did it thru magazines, leaflets, commercials, etc for years with no win… sometimes coupons and little gifts until last summer… We like to play quiz contests and like to watch on Quiz contest on TV.. .It’s us…

Anyway, I found quiz contest leaflet when I collect mails from mail box…. I was like “Why Not” and fill out to answer their questions … and it says in the list for prize winner…

1st prize for one winner: 2 weeks holiday to Mexico with luxury hotel for 2 person with pocket money €5,000..

2nd prize winner for one winner: Car or € 20,000 bar

3rd prize for 3 winners: = € 2,500 bar, bicycle worth €290 EUR and Video/DVD player

4th prize for 3 winners: luxury weekends Wellness Hotel (Germany only)

5th prize for 5 winners: € 500

6th prize for 5 winners: € 250

7th to 10th ???????? little coupons, gifts...

We played quiz together to answer their questions under my hubby’s name and mailed off to company last June… We forget it total…. until we got a letter from company telling us that my hubby is 3rd prize winner last end of September. They required our comfirmation in writing until 5th October. The company pay everything for us to 4 guests is pick us up by luxury bus at bus station on 23rd October at 7.30 am and treat us and winners at breakfast and lunch buffet, a glass of champagne – view at their company (I :dunno: what company they want us to view – let it surprise). We are skeptical over that offer… and hard to believe that we are 3rd winner??? I told my hubby to answer them… no matter what because it cost us nothing… My hubby was like okkaaaayyyy… and put letter in the kitchen cubboard and said we will answer it … but we forget it total… so we got 2nd letter again to remind us last Monday... It wake us up and begin to believe that it’s serious that we are 3rd prize winner… :eek3: I answered straight way… I got a letter yesterday with confirmation of date and time… our number…. We must show the bus driver our number… We got mixed feeling either it’s really serious or not????? All for that we will take our day off from work to go there to find out ourselves either it’s really true that we will get money, bicycle and DVD/Video player…

My boys don't want to go with us but want to go school and said that they might to get boring there... Okay, just me and my hubby... My boys are exciting and said that we should buy brand PC, designer clothes.... and go to good resturant because we didn't visit resturant for ages... We told them - "Hold on... don't exciting too early yet until we see money on our hands then... and cannot promise yet because we need money to pay oil for our winter heating, woods for fire place and winter tyres for our car... then..... "

Wish us Good Luck...

*mixed feeling* :ugh3:

How do you feeling when you are in my shoe?

Last Thursday I got a phone call from some kind of Resort stating that I won a drawing for 4 free plane tickets (anywhere in the world as they said), a trip down to Martha Vineyard (Cape Cod area in Mass) with free spa for one day. Sounds too good to be true, but I did remember putting my name in the box 2 weeks ago.

I have about 25 calls in total of 8 days now. My mom told me this story and we backed out few days ago. I recalled that one of the phone calls we answered was for us to drive down and meet them and bring our credit card and ID. The site is 1 1/2 hours drive from our house. Ugh. Then the next thing they said we would have to sit and listen to them about time squares, selling properties, and all that bullsh*t for 90 minutes before getting our free package. My mom said there will be about 300 winners and probably about 10 people who are gullible enough to buy their properties and be in debt.

These people are very persuasive and very consistent until you fall for it and buy it. So, be very, very careful!!! Just remember, say no and walk away. They probably won't give you free package, but you'll save yourself from spending thousands of dollars from them.

Good luck.

Yeah, I heard the exactly same thing as Catmandu did from some of my family members and friends, even looked it up on the internet as well too...I've enter these sweepstakes many time during the rib-cook offs for a chance to win a dream vacation, brand new car/truck/camper and many more..But unfortunately when a friend of mine mentioned about a phone call saying she won a 7 days vacation trip for 2 to Walt Disney and that she should pickup her prize at a particular location which was a couple of hours drive from her home...she had to sit through a demonstration for at least 2 hours, talking about whole kinds of BS such as building, properties, etc...They make you believe you're getting a wholesale-priced vacation which you aren't, these sweepstakes are suppose to be free and you're not suppose to be paying anything not even a penny for these prizes...I've learned a lot by this, so I decide to stick with the lottery, instead of trying to enter these sweepstakes cause I don't want to be the victim in these scams...I agree with Catmandu here, never give out your credit card number, your checking account number, bank account information, or other personal account information etc...I haven't actually won anything big especially when I brought a couple of lottery games that cost a dollar or two, and I end up winning $50 dollars twice, not bad huh?

I agree. Business do not jsut give away thousands of dollars in prizes unless they thinkthey will get that and more back from the personthey warded the "prize" to. There is usually something attached to these deals. The fact that they are transporting the winners to a location to "view the company" is a bit of a red flag. If it were jsut the prize won outright, they would ship it to the winner.

Wow! You've got lucky fingers! Can I send you my lottery tickets to scratch off? I never win anything!

Yeah, these programs have been around for years and most are legal. Btw, Catmandu meant time SHARES.

Never trust sweepstakes.. *toss into the garbage*

I do trust lottery come w/license ticket number on it.. which under gov't tax free..

Yes, that is exactly right. I'm so glad my mother talked to me out of it because she told me this story that her next door neighbor fell into it and he had to pay a lot of money to time shares which he can only use it once a year for a week at the exact same time and paid a lot of money on taxes, etc. *smh*

Thank you for share your post here...

Yes I aware about those warning... We were told to never trust the phone call and internet... also TV "crime and caution" once a month as well. It must be confirmation in WRITING, not phone call or internet... scam!!!

I would feel skepticial and slam the phone on them when they ask me to bring credit card and ID and then drive one and half hour over there... Should I spend my money on gasoline to drive there... ?

Yes, I aware that we won´t bring credit/debit card with me but small cash...
