list some good rpg's that youve ever played and ill check them out and tell others about.:rl:

I'm not crazy for RPGs. I've never found any excitement with watching a bunch of people stand around waiting for you to give each person a specific order.

Okay... #1, use the power of fire at the 5th level on enemy #2. #2, use the power of healing on #1 using the power of the heavens. #3, use your 3rd sword with 6th level strength on enemy #2. #4, use your water magic's level 4 on the fire enemy #3.

Now, fight. *sits, watches, and yawns*

Okay, seems like #1 lost 12 health points but gained 8 health points by #2 and reduced enemy #1's health point down to 8. #2 gained 4 experience points from healing #1. #3 missed when he swung his sword but is down to 30 health points by an attack by enemy #3. #4's water magic was ineffective against fire enemy #3... but was burned and is down to 5 health points.

Okay, next turn. *groans*

what are you talking about? im confused

LOL, he is describing what's going on in the world of RPG's battle system. Ya know, when you start the battle (with monsters), you decide whether to cast healing, spells, or use direct physical attack to harm the monster. Then you wait for the result.

I love RPG's. It suits my pace...I live a slow pace life so RPG is perfect for me.

RPG requires patience...since it's like reading the book but instead you are controlling the characters to see the story. So it's not for everyone. lol

Anyway...

Final Fantasy 7 is my favorite RPG game.

Yeah, that's what I was doing.

I've seen people just sit there doing that. When I ask them why it's good, they tell me that it just is. I then ask them, "Where's the hand-eye coordination as well movement skills in that game?" They're usually speechless after that question. ;)

Final Fantasy 7 is my favorite RPG game.

Me, too. I haven't play any RPG game since then. Until FF7 : Advent Children movie made me litte weeping to see Cloud met Aerith again and reunion, too. Darn, I wish I keep FF7 game instead sold it to Funcoland (aka GameStop) for Metal Solid Gear 2.

I played a couple RPG games and only one I enjoy very much. Legend of the Dragoon. Best rpg I ever played. I wish they make a sequel. I also like Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits and Grandia II.

NOW THIS IS MY #1 favorite VamPyro's RPG game.

Personally I have started to favor SRPGS (Stragety RPGS) over the years since playing Final Fantasy Tactics.

the best classic RPG is Chrono Trigger (SNES version)

And still had this one. :)

Ah man...I have that on PS1 but never played it on PS1 version. I remember renting it for SNES and I was confused because I did not realize that it was time travelling game (probably like 15 years later when I learned how the game works). Therefore, I ended up fighting the final boss over again and again at such low level (like beginning I think). So yeah, I got to see the world coming to end over again and again...I am such a idiot gamer at that time. lol But I also thought it was cool to watch the world coming to end.

Most snes game I knew does not show the alternative end if you failed. Most just resulted in "Game Over" but never had a cutscene to show if you failed. So it was pretty neat at that time.

So in reality I never finished that game, I only have that game on PS1 version because it came with Final Fantasy. Maybe I should pick up that game and finish it.

that's not necessarily true. oblivion, morrowind, eve, wow, marvel ultimate alliance and more -- rpg games. none of them are like what you had replied in your post. do you know that bioshock is also classified as a rpg game?

i recalled that a few years ago, someone told me that people who like to read the books, would like to play the rpg games. who don't like to read the books wouldn't like to play the rpg games. i don't know if it's consensus but i had noticed this pattern among gamers. it's just a valid but unscientific polled theory.

oblivion is hands down the best rpg game i've ever played. plus dark ranger mod.

You're right. There are different types of RPGs.

The kind of RPGs I prefer are games like The Legend of Zelda, Super Paper Mario (wii), etc.

A friend of mine played Oblivion a couple nights ago and that was a good game.

What I showed earlier, that's the kind of RPG that I don't like. I want to be able to do something, not just sit there and watch my characters fight while I do nothing.

Imagine me playing that kind of game and someone walked in on me. "Hey, what you doing?" "Oh, I'm playing my video game." "You are? Then why are you just sitting there doing nothing like you're watching a movie?" "Oh, I'm waiting for my characters to finish their attacks." "Oh, you're not doing anything? Gee, what a lame game!" *groans*

Vamproxy, I think you are like my sister. She did not like turn-based rpg (one where you did nothing while they fight monsters after input the commands). What you liked is probably called "adventure/rpg", the group that Zelda belongs in.

It took me years to realize this. At first, I did not understand why she liked Kingdom Hearts or Zelda, but yet hated Final Fantasy. D'oh!

That type of rpg is my second favorite. But that type is becoming more popular those days.

I have heard of fps/rpg, adventure/rpg, strategy rpg, tactics rpg, and turn-based rpg so far...I am sure there's more but it's unknown to me right now.

I think I hate strategy and tactics rpg the most out of all types of rpg.

If you have Wii, I bet adventure/rpg is most likely what you get with Wii because of remote/motion sensor system.
