I love the Low Country and get there when I can. This will be a devastating time for all but I know the enormous faith of the region, all will be there for all.

Thank you. :)

Today was overcast and raining, all day. The local weatherman on TV said that God was crying.

Many local people have been sharing their memories of the men, and showing their support. Some of the local restaurants and bakeries have been providing food for the families and fire fighters. Many of the stores and businesses have changed their signs and billboards to messages of condolence and support.

When I drove home from church tonight, I saw our neighborhood fire fighters outside in the rain working on their "memorial" that they had set up under the flag pole. They added a spotlight so the empty coat and boots could be seen at night.

This has been a rough year for our public servants. We've had several police officers die (men, woman, and K-9, full-time and reserve) and it seems we've had one funeral after another for them. The police, the fire fighters, and the EMTs know each other. It's been hard on all of them.

Wow, that is a devastating news. My heart goes out to the families and friends and I do have a friend lived there, but at service in Germany, but his family still lives in Charleston.

Wow Reba my condolences to you and all the families. Reading this thread definitely brought tears to my eyes.

Sadly, I don't think we really appreciate our public servants as much as we should. Each and Every DAY these people put their lives on the line, to try to make the world a safer and better place for us all.

I stopped by our local volunteer fire station to extend my condolences and appreciation. I took some pictures of the informal "memorial" they set up.

Wow. My with the sympathies are with the families of the dead firefighters. My grandfather from my mother's side was a firefighter.

That's really horrible. It really scared me to because my best friend is a fire fighter and my uncle is a firefighter and he's been in a fire accident already. God bless and be with the family's and the community of the lost firefighters

Agreed! I was watching it on the news and it brought tears in my eyes. My condolences to the families, you, and the community.
