Ouch, sorry about misunderstooding you.

I just said to other members that don't know what's abbreviation? that's can be confused with Los Angeles or Louisiana but... I don't means that you are from city of LA or LA County then I need to call proper name in next time.

Now, it's alright...

I'm sorry but I disagee with you there, Crazymomma, Why should I be nice when there are specific leashing of dogs law. Owners are supposed to take reasonable control over their pets, not having them roaming around people's property, how's that respectful?

Anyway I called the Animal Protective League kennel, They stated that it was the law that the dogs have to be restrained by a leash and secure on their own premise with a fence taller than the dogs or a kennel cage. I even told them that they don't even have a kennel cage or a fence to keep the dogs on their own premise. They're gonna come out, talk to them if they're not home let them know that they had violation of leash requirements and a home kennel with a top for their pitbulls, they'll leave a note on their door. I even mention to them what kind of dogs they were, and they said that Pitbulls, mixed pitbulls are classified as vicious and dangerous dogs and they need to be in locked fence with a roof and muzzled on their face while being on leash, they are not allow to roam around the properties at all at any time.

I also was told I wasn't the only one who made the reported, they had a few reported made this early morning and yesterday, and they already came out this early morning but nobody was home, so they left a note on their door, they will come back again this afternoon. ;)

Wow your not only one? other ppl report that too? wow that is great to hear that news :) ..

OH yeah muzzled cover dog's mouth. one of owner have pitbull dog in my hometown where live same street somewhere but his dog wear muzzled all the time when go outside with leash on too :)

ooooo good for you and glad that you were not alone on this problems with the owners of pitbulls

Well I had problem with pitbulls in my area several times. Let me share mine...

My son was about 2 years old, and he was playing outside, and I was weedwhacking the yard.. There WAS a 2 Rottweilers and 2 PitBulls running around the neighborhoods, and I was really frightening cause my son was way down the yard, and I am up the hill, my 2 dogs Rusco and Copper, they were wimp, they won't fight or sniff with other dogs. Those 4 dangerous dogs were running to MY YARD and they were around my son and Rusco and Copper, what should I do.. I dropped the weedwhacker and ran down and chase those dogs off and got hold of Copper, Rusco and Kyler. And then Mike came out with weedwhacker and chased them off with weedwhacker. I know whose all dogs belong, and my husband and I walked up the hill where the dogs belong, and knock the door, and told them nicely and polite the man and woman told us, they were sorry and will never happen again... That was the first time.. And then next day, I see them running around again, and my husband called them for 2nd time and told them nicely and please put them on leash before getting trouble, they just scolded at us, like they don't care about our respect... And then 3rd time, I was mowing grass, and Kyler was on the patio and riding his tricycle, and man, those 4 crazy dogs been driving my 2 dogs crazy in fight in front of my son. OMG!!! And I kicked the Rottweilers out away from Rusco and Copper, and my husband chased the 2 pitbulls away. Man, we have had :pissed: enough with them, my husband called the polices over and over and over, and finally they showed up. The polices gave the owner a ticket for dogs running at large around the neighborhoods. And few weeks later, one of our dog Rusco was poisoned to death. When we got off from work, and then picked our son up and drove all the way home, and found a little bowl in the yard, and Rusco was laying down on the porch and she wasn't herself. Every time we come home, she get so exciting, up and down. We called the vet, and took her to the emergency and she just collapsed in the vet waiting room on the floor and my son was there and watching her dying. The vet said her eyes and mouth were dried, and had tests, and the vet said she was poisoned to death by antifreeze. WTF!! WHO DID IT?! We know who did it.. After the vet carried Rusco to the table, and Kyler was there and watched the whole time, and my husband signed the paper to put her to sleep. She was suffered. And then my husband and son got in the car, and my son was asking and why is Rusco not coming home, and he screamed ALLLLLL the way home and asking Rusco to come home. We tried to tell him and told him that the BIG shiny star up the dark sky is Rusco, she is in heaven. ANd every time we pass the vet, he would asked if we can stop at the vet to bring Rusco home. There is nothing we can do.. The owners had been put up with me and we have told them respect and be friendly with him by talking and they just don't respect us, they don't care about OUR safety... We have told them to tied them up on leash or rope many time... They just let them go.

I have wrote a letter to the city, and I have wrote letter to the polices and I have wrote letter to the dog pounds and I have wrote letter to pet organizations, and seemed like NOTHING or NO ONE helps us. That was happen 2 years ago... No updates yet.. So we left the the owners alone, and we put Copper in the basement while we both work. I have the fears of letting Copper stay outside while we both work.

Then our new neighbors moved in our neighborhoods, and they have little kids, about my son's age, and they have a little beagle dog. The beagle dog was CUTE!! Only like 8 or 9 months old.. What happen last week, there were 3 polices drove by with lights on, and I was like WHOA, what's going on. So my husband, son and I went for walk and we saw the polices were at the 4 dogs's house, the owners's place.. The dogs killed the beagle last week. YIKES! And 2 dog pound trucks came and got the 4 dogs and took them away. After that, I haven't see the dogs running around yet..

Now we got a letter that every owner MUST own 1 or 2 big dogs in per households, and the dogs MUST have their tags, dog tax tag, rabies tags, and identification tags. For little dog, per household, allowed to own 3 or 4 dogs. I am telling, state of WV go crazy with Pitbulls and Rottweilers.

Like what I mean.. If I didn't polite them or argue with them or shouting them off, I am afraid I will get hurt. Or my dogs or my son will get hurt. So far, the neighbhorhood been quiet, and we haven't see the 4 crazy dogs running around. I always have my dogs on rope when they go outside, and on leash when we take the dogs out for walk. That is OUR safety...

CrazyMomma, that's crazy for people to own FOUR dogs. But it's sad that you lost your dog and also killed someone's dog :( but good thing that they took their four dogs away so they have to learn their lesson

OMG!! I'm sorry that happened to you, Crazymomma. Some pet owners can be so damn careless, it's a shame. :(

There's some cities that already banned to own of pitbull.
Pit bull - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Interesting? If people who from Chicago, that love pitbull then they need move out to suburb, out of city limit to prevent from consficate them after law is passed but too hard for move out so quickly, such as sell their house (It will take about up to 6 month to sold) on average cost. If people who is renters then they can move out so quickly after contract (short or long term) is expire but doubt about most apt will allow it.

that is correct... a friend of ours had to move to the subs cuz she didn't want to risk losing her pitbull... she lives near the border of the city... as she works in the city...

Good for you and your neighbors! Who knows, you just might have saved a child from getting hurt or worse.....plus no poop-on-your-front-yard duty!

Oh boy Cheri ...Guess what

I'm on your side too...I don't like pitbull dogs either, to my disappointment that I've told a friend no dog allowed on the property or in the property, she already brung her dog it's a pitbull dog and I told her not to bring the dog in my apartment, she & her boyfriend didn't even listens to me and my husband told her the same things too still she and her boyfriend didn't listen either, they said he can stay out in the back porch, but then she ask me if my sister has little kids I said no they're teenager now, she said oh good and she went on and told me said that her dog will bite small baby and little kids, I was like what:eek3:

I did not appreicate them for bringin' the dog into my apartment and I found out that their dog never been to the vet and I was like Ewwwww that dog could have worms (Parasite) which people can get them easily, I do not like unhealthy dog that carried bad diseased ....Later she e-mail me and said she got a gifts from her boyfriend a Rottweiler, I said oh boy, both are dangerous, but they was always broke, how can they afford it hmmm and No I do not like Rott or a Pit, hard to believe they pick up dangerous dog!:ugh:

I don't blame you Cheri, I know they are dangerous, if your neighbor pit bull come over and bit one of your kids, you can sue the owner!

Some of you know that I don't like pitbull dogs, because of the fact they have a bad rap report, a new neighborhood moved in recently past weekend, I saw that they had a pitbull dog, and then another pitbull was spotted roaming in my front yard and driveway without a leash, I was pretty upset at the fact that both of those dogs don't even have a leash when I have two children and a small dog, I don't even trust pitbull dogs and I just wishes that neighborhood would show some respect by putting a leash on his dogs. So, when both dogs were indoor, I spotted the owner outside, I got a hold of him, told him that he should put a leash on the dogs and not having them running around my yard and his respond was "Oh they're good dogs, They won't hurt you", I don't care how good they are, they need to be on a leash period, and he goes on saying "Oh just mind your own business" WTF?! I started getting really pissy with him and told him "My kids and my dog makes it my business so if anything happened to them, I'll be holding you responsible, so get your dogs leashed up or I'll call the cops the choice is yours? Which is it?!" Gawd! What's with those pet owners?!! :pissed:

I don't care how good or well behave any dogs are, they should be on leash at all times, and I care about my children's safely and as well my dog, Charlie's safely too. I mean do I have that right to feel safe? Where's the frigging respect? Damn!!

wow crazymomma that was crazy with that 4 crazy dogs damn
about time that dogs left whew
GRR at the owners ignore the respect scoffs

My question - Why would the individual let the media brainwashes the individual about the pitbulls? the individual have NO experience with pitbulls, I don' tsee any why to be very afraid of the pitbulls just because of media.

It's funny how you sit here and defends pit bull dogs when they have more vicious bite cases than other breeds, they are portrayed as aggressive in their bloodstream. They do have a bad reputation, I could pull up tons and tons of websites, videos on pit bulls attacking kids. That's why those type of dogs need to be on leash at all times, keep the public safe, keep those kids safe. It seems to me all you care about are pit bulls what about the public? I've seen pictures of pit bulls rip kids into pieces, it's completely disgusted. They are quite dangerous dogs, I don't mind if people own pit bulls but they need to be more responsible owners, keep them in control, not having them roaming around the neighborhoods. They do have unpredictable behavior when around other dogs and kids, it is in their nature. They need to be leashed, just like other dogs. It's all about respect, respect the public, we'll respect you. That's an important lesson for pet owners, if they don't want their dogs taken away from them, then follow the law they wouldn't have a problem. ;)

I've seen many dogs get a bad rap.

Most dogs become aggressive if the owner has not done their research and know how to take care of the breed. There are a lot of good dogs out there, the public is just believing the hype that's out there.

Yes, dogs have attacked children... but did you ever think that it was the owner's fault, not the dogs'? If an owner knows how to take care of their dog, and treat it with love and respect, the dog will turn into a great dog. If the ownder doesn't treat the dog well, the dog will display bad behaviour.

It's not Just pit bulls.. if you look at the ASPCA shows on Animal Planet.. there are dogs that are not pit bulls that act the way people accuse Pit Bulls of acting.

Let me tell you about an incident that happened to me when i was a teenager.. My family had 2 chows.. a male and a female.. The male dog was very antisocial to most people, except my mother. He tends to attack people.. and that's scary. I still have minor scars from attacks. Including a small one on my nose. Female chow was my baby, I loved her more than anything.

We don't know why he was the way he was. but he is gone now.

And I knew a pit bull, sweetest dog I ever met in my life. Never attacked anyone. The owner knew how to take care of his dog, he'd grown up with pit bulls himself.

I can understand Cheri's fear.. but the greatest weapon IMO, against fear.. is knowledge. Learn about the dogs, not just the bad history, but the breed itself.

Any update sis?...

glad you mentioned this part!!! :D we have a pitbull mix.. and she is one of the most sweetest and brightest dogs... my bf isn't into dogs.. but he loves her!!! :D

a friend of ours has a dog that looks like cheri's puppy (i don't know what breed it is but it is similar to her dog)... and he hates many people that he growls at them and even bit a few people!!! he also pees/poops every where in the house.... he even "stumps" on their kids too (toddlers)... jeez! he has a "mental" problem... her husband hates that dog... but she won't give him up cuz she feels "guilty"... :ugh:

so it is not just pitbulls that can be "deadly/dangerous"... there are other breeds that bite... i believe many (not all) dogs will bite to protect themselves if they feel they are being poked or something...

i just wish people would stop pinpointing/blaming on rots or pitbulls for their vicorius (sp?) behavior ... it is the owner(s)... not the dogs... it depends on the owners... some owners neglect them, or train them to "attack/protect" them.. etc...

like crazymomma told us about the incident she had... the owner obviously didn't do a great job in "training" their dogs or treat them nicely too!??? jeez... i am SO GLAD THEY TOOK THEIR DOGS AWAY!!! they didn't deserve those dogs! and i hope it was a wake up call for them as well!!

I've seen many dogs get a bad rap.

Many dogs are not classified as most dangerous and vicious dogs only particular breeds are classified as a most dangerous and vicious dogs, Pit bulls were included. And it's not always the owner's fault, dangerous dogs can snapped for no particularly reason at all however so. I've seen it happened before, it is because owner let those dangerous dogs roam on other residential premises when they are supposed to be leashed or keep on their own premises. Responsibilities comes with respect. I have every right to have fears when it comes to dangerous dogs like pit bulls, because a pit bull bite my son once for no particularly reason at all and my friend was not a bad owner, she was even more surprised her dog bite my son out of blue. I refused to let it happen again, there are laws on dangerous and vicious dogs and pet owners need to follow those laws.

And FeistyChick I cannot help but noticed that you haven't mention or shown any caring about my situation only show emotions about beloved pit bulls. I'll remember that. :( enough said by me.
