I didn't really have friends in high school to begin with. I sometimes see high school classmates at stores especially where I work. You'd think they'd grow up logically, but they are still snotty people. The guys are all right. Two of them managed to smile and still be friendly, but the girls don't even care to say hi at all.

What has it been like for you?

I have seen some familiar people through myspace and looked to see how their lives are so far.

Well for those who are snobs they don't intend to grow up and act like adults. Most of the time they will act like snobs even they are grown adults, but remember what comes around goes around.. Somtimes they think they are better than the other person. But some may grow out of it and you will be suprise who they are. You may end up best friends with them.. Life is full of suprises. I don't even hang out with snob period. Even if they grew out of it, no way, still won't be friends with them. Not my true friends. But its your life and you can figure it out yourself. Good luck

It depends on how they changed after graduating from high school.

Some people have their minds so set at something that they stick with it for the rest of their lives.

i have seen many friends over the years at deaf events and etc.. they usually say HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII and hug me.. then we chatted on to catch up on news about whats going on over the years etc.. its always good to see everyone.. :)

but few i have wondered how they are doing.. it seem like they disappeared from touch and no one have heard from them?? dang.. thats too bad! :( I would love to hear from them again.. :)

It seems that if u graduate from a deaf school, you are more likely to run into your former classmates at deaf events and socials, right?

I graduated from a public high school with 500 plus students in my class and they are all hearing except for my best friend so I dont think I will ever run into any of them again. I did register with classmates.com and did get in touch with some classmates but really I have nothing to say cuz I am such a different person being involved in the deaf world and use ASL as my primary source of communication. I did go to my 10 year renunion and of course the cheerleaders and football players stuck together throughout the whole renunion night. I thought it was silly. Someone told me that the 20 year renunion is better cuz everyone is more mature. I am not sure if I will go to my 20 year..it is only 4 years away..YIKES! I cant believe how time FLIES!!!!

My 5 years renunion is in summer of 2007 so I can't wait. I have found most of my classmates from myspace and I do keep in touch with alot of them! It's so good and I have seen alot of people that have changed also! Most of them is married now with kids! :giggle:

Yeah, a few people surprised me that they are married or even have kids after only 4 years which does't feel more than 2 years to me.

As for deaf classmates, I occassionally see them at deaf events. Since I actually graduated from HS closer to my home, I usually see them at college or in the community. Some of them found me on myspace and facebook, I did the same thing. My old classmates are always friendly, and they just accept who I am. Sometimes I go shopping and run into them becuase they work at stores or resturants. Other HS that I was supposed to graduate from, never seen any hearies classmates again but deaf students yeah.

I've been able to reunite with many of my high school friends through Classmates - High School Military College Reunions - Find Old Friends - Search for People - Class Reunion

I attended a public high school and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I really miss those days and wish I could relive them again...

My friends and I still communicate with each other by e-mail after all these years. In fact, one of my friends is someone whom I've known since the 1st grade.

If you've never checked out classmates.com you might want to check it out! :)

I use myspace.com and have gotten in touch with many people who I've gone to school with. I've tried classmates in the past but did not like it at all.

Lucia,

Just curious...what didn't you like about classmates.com? I don't like the fact that one is required to pay a fee to send e-mail, but considering the number of people I've been able to reunite with, I consider that a small price to pay but of course that's only one person's opinion. LOL!

By the way, how do you find people on myspace.com?

I hate the fees...so I won't use classmates.com. Myspace.com works just fine for reuniting with classmates...I search by school name, region, interest, email address, etc. Different ways! I have about 55 people on my friends list now from all the different schools I went to, as well as some current friends. And it didn't cost me a penny, no credit card required or anything like that, completely free.

I wanna to add, facebook.com, and most of my classmates are there. Its free to join as well.

I'll definitely have to check out myspace.com sometime!

Racheleggert,

Thanks for the recommendation of facebook.com!
