WOW, I'm sorry that this happened to you Gemtun :( but you're not ALONE, I've had my share of this several times lately and it's no fun

What if person A dislike person B for vary of reasons and picks on person B as often as she/he can, is that similar to cyberbully?...

Yes !!

Cyberbully (A) is a person who tends to put down
another person online making this B person look bad.

Person C gets very upset watching this
person A putting down person B.

I am the Person C feeling very upset watching
this person A putting down person B repeatedly
so thats why I have to avoid any posting because of
this damn Cyberbully who kept interrupting/interfering us. Sigh.
This Cyberbully (A) happens to be
"Hearie" who thinks she know it all and constantly put down
this person B repeatedly even yesterday and today etc
especially about the Gallaudet Protest. Sigh.

This Cyberbully (A) also tend to tell person B "what to do"....
even though this person B NEVER asked for that
kind of advice. This is a subtle way of
putting this person down.

This Cyberbully turns me off. Thats why
I almost NEVER reply back to that Cyberbully. Eeeek.

Huh? I'm lost

I’m simply pointing out that I’ve stopped flaming him simply for the sake of annoying him. That serves no real purpose other than my own gratification. And that is the definition of bullying. However, I still post information about him on other message boards. I’ve made sure that anybody who types his name into Google becomes aware of his activities. That’s not bullying—that’s acting in the public interest. His brother Mark has an extensive criminal record in Anne Arundel County, including three convictions for spousal abuse, possession for distribution of methamphetamine, and several alcohol-related motor vehicle offenses, the most recent of which occurred last month. The public has the right to know that they are dealing with a predatory individual who comes from a family of impulse-disordered males. In my opinion, that does not constitute bullying, stalking or harassment; any more than maintaining a public database of criminal offenders constitutes harassment.

The public, however, still deserves to be protected. I still regularly post information about Mr. Dannunzio on the Internet as I find it, including all of his vital information and the criminal records of his immediate family members. I have been accused of stalking him, but so mote it be. I simply don’t see it that way. He is, after all, the pervert—not me. I’ve simply stopped making posts that are solely intended to provoke him and ‘get his goat’.

A cyberbully on AD to me is the one who have her/his friends gang up on me all because I dont agree with that cyberbully's opinion. I have had a few telling me that I am not their friends simply because I dont agree with them.

Jeez, that is what a cyberbully is - demanding that I agree with everything he/she says. And if I speak up, her/his friends will join the attack without even knowing ME. A cyberbully is easily threatened by anyone who dares to speak up with respect and in peace, of course. But that cyberbully is so intent on making it an ugly interaction that its mootless to continue the dialogue.

*rolling my eyes*

That happens all the time on here. I've also seen where people will "talk smack" about someone outside of AD. Then, turn around a create threads on the forum for the sole purpose of gaining sympathy when the person hears of the things said, and puts that person in their place. If someone is talking about someone else, the person being talked about has every right to say something. If the thing said happens to bruise feelings, so be it. That doesn't make them a bully. It makes them right in defending themselves. If you talk about someone behind their back, be prepared to get shit for it.

I'm sure there are people on here who have talked about me and said a lot of crap behind my back. I personally don't care. I'm also sure I'm labelled a bully on here by many, and I don't care about that, either.

People can think what they want of me. I'm the type of person...Either you like me or you don't. I'm also the type of person that either I like you or I don't. There is no middle ground. That's also the way it is in the real world.

People need to grow the hell up and just learn to deal with what is said. If something happens on AD in the open, fine. But, if you've got stuff going on in private or outside of AD, keep it there.

*Sigh*

I don't know what the HELL is going on, and why all this anger?..I also don't know why Steve's name is being brought up in this thread, I simple asked each of you to tell me what " cyberbullies " really means to you all, but all I see is someone or a group of friends to be blamed, or assume that this is what this thread is all about, or how it was brought up...and it has NOTHING to do with what's going on outside of AD, so for that, leave it out!!

I'm going to ask one more time to respect what this thread is about, that's all I'm asking so please knock off whatever some of you are assume that this is about you or someone else, cause it isn't....

*stepping off the clouds*

What anger? You asked what the term ‘bullying’ means to us, and we’re responding. I just happen to be illustrating my point with a concrete example. I could just as easily have used a hypothetical example, but I chose to use the recent events that occurred here because they so perfectly illustrate what I’m trying to say. I don’t even really see why you’re objecting to our responses to your query. To me, it seems that you pre-stipulated the responses that you would consider to be acceptable in your OP, and now you’re objecting because we didn’t respond in a manner that you approve of. Essentially, you’re saying this: “I’m going to start a thread asking for your opinions on a particular subject”. “If your responses are not consistent with what I want them to be, I will delete the thread”. In other words, “stroke me or be gone with you”. That strikes me as a form of bullying. We’re all completely on-topic here—nobody has deviated from the subject outlined in the OP. So what exactly is the issue?

This is beginning to be funny now.

Apparently, after reading through this, it's obvious that this thread has veered off course--it has nothing to do with a past member whatsoever and anything else pertaining to it.
