The Best PS2 Games (In Your Opinion)

I recently purchased a PS2 (for the 4th ot 5th time) to play Okami. I also picked up Gun and Shadow of the Colossus. I rented Colossus and played it on a roomate's PS2 last year. It was an amazing experience that is not to be missed.
I was curious about everybody's favorite or best PS2 games from the last 5 or so years of the PS2's lifespan. In listing your favorite PS2 games, I might see a few that I want myself.
 
I don't know the best PS2 game, because there's too many good ones out there. :) One of the few, GTA3 series, Gran Tursimo 3 and Mega Man Collection Edition. It's my opinion, thank you!
 
well the best one i ve played thus far is finalfantasy vll dierge of cerebus and finalfatnasy 10 finalfantasy 11 online which is on ps2 and will be phantasy star universe and armored core all serires since it began on ps2 hmmi cant think of anything else but i ll update as soon as i think of it
 
GTA San Andreas, Bully, Yakuza, Getaway 2 and Devil May Cry 3.
 
I will give 3 games a rental or buy if I can find them for cheap\reasonable prices:

FFIV: Dirge of Cerberus
Bully

I picked up Need For Speed: Most Wanted today for $20. Racing\arcade racing is one of the genres I like. NFSMW has a slo-motion button, which can be really helpful in tight situations while driving in the game. I played a friend's NFSMW last year and really liked it so I had to pick it up.

I also like Stragety RPGs "SRPG" like Nippon Ichi games or FFT.
 
For me, I would said GTA Series and WWE: Here Comes The Pain... NFS is also good games

How about FFXII?
 
Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Jak 2, Jak 3, Jak X: Combat Racing, and God of War.
 
I've kind of lost interest in RPGS if it isn't on the GBA/DS and/or is unique like Riviera: The Promised Land, or Yggdra Union(upcoming game for GBA) or Phantom Brave/Disgaea.
I played and beat GTA3 and GTA Vice City, which has me curious about Bully. I know Bully is from Rockstar, but I am not sure it is from the same people who are responsible for the GTA series. A friend might sell me his old copy of GTA San Andreas for $5 or $10.

What about multiplayer games?

Does in DC area have EBgames? You can buy any used games at EBgames.
 
Actually, near Gallaudet, there is both a EB Games and a Gamestop.
I occasionally shop for used games at these two spots.
 
I am curious abt GTA series, GTA III is now out of print? Rare? Hard to find? Cuz I went to Best Buy to buy some PS2 games and cannot find GTA III :(

Just go to Gamestop or EBgames, or even order on amazon.com.
 
Der' the best eh.. Well these are the ones I find most fun for specific genres.

Racing-
GT2 A-spec (Gran truismo 2)
GT-3
Burnout 3: takedown

RPGS
Valkyrie profile 2: Silmeria
Grandia 3 (s'ok not what it should be though)
Dark cloud 2

FPS/Action
Armored core series (Nexus, Silent line, Last raven, 2, AA etc)
Dirge of cerberus is godly, too short but godly.

Slash and bash type
Dynasty warriors

Horror/shealth
Any metal gear (Hideo kojima is a genius !)
Resident evil series (Though I prefer to play them on a GC)

If you really like tactic games I highly suggest you get-

Phantom brave
Disgaea series
La pucelle tactics
Makai kingdom
Atelier iris
Stella deus

Last time I bought some new games at EB Games and one cashier suggested me to get used which it much cheaper than new and she said 100% guaranteed work, so I go ahead get used games and resulted not working on my PS2 then I had to go back EB Games and have war with them, so I dont trust them again!! Unless I get new game, then thats fine with me
