No female holiday??

We have Columbus day, Martin Luther King Jr day, St. Patrick's Day, and everything...

But no female holiday??? Why?

What we women need to do to have a holiday??? Get Hilary Clinton to become first female President???
 
We don't work on Queen's Birthday - its a public Holiday here :)

She has one point here, I do not see any famous woman for holiday alike we have here, Martin Luther king, Washington's and Lincolin's birthday, St Patrick Day, St Valentine Day and so on. They all are males.
 
There's also breast cancer awareness month, too.
 
Males have breast cancer too, so it's not limited to women.
(Believe it nor not).

Me..I really don't care my hub makes a holiday for me when I need
a time out. It shouldn't take a national holiday for women to be
recongized or to have some time to herself.

Atleast my family does (hub and my girls) :hug:

Yeah I agree she has a very good point here. (no, she was NOT
being negative at all ... just an observant... )

I really missed many of her EXCELLENT postings very
provocative and interesting !

P.S. They should have create new day for
Juliette Gordon Low etc...

If you mean by Famous from women for hoilday same like president, etc like that. Why do you want to know abt it? :| please explain more?

How many famous women do you know and how many are we celebrating the way we celebrate ML King or Columbus?
We women are oppressed by men. Always been.

Anybody seen latest Oprah show on what's happening with teenage girls nowadays (wanting to be like stupid celebrities aka P Hilton), with Pink as her guest?

Pink has a very valid point- could you please tell me off the bat at least 5 names of succesfull, smart young women now?

I'll bet you'll have hard time with it. I did.

Pink also said- a guy won the skateboard competition. His picture was on the cover of Rolling Stones magazine. The girl won gold medal in skateboarding competition - where the heck is her picture? who's heard of her?

Well so do men have their father's day but it is not the same- father day/mother day... but where are the individual women honored?

Popped in my mind - Susan B Anthony? I haven't seen her for long time..umm I mean her face on one us dollar coin....since late 1990's.

So, I likes friend-family holiday days like Mother's Day, Father's day. Xmas Day, Easter Day, and any awareness days to bring together for a day.
 
Mothers Day requires you to be a mother. Not all women are mothers!

So, Empress has a point. Where's a holiday that celebrates being a woman.

But again, think about it, I don't think we have a holiday that celebrates being a male!
