Reba said:What kind of system? Do you mean cameras that watch the outside of your house? Or do you mean cameras that watch people inside your house? Is it connected with alarms? Will it be a monitored system? What is your reason for the system?
Taylor said:Personally, I don't see anything wrong with it. Security camera's in homes have helped catch a lot of bad guys in the act. They don't do much in detering crime (unless you make it well known that there are camera's).
A friend of mine has several located within his house, as well as outside (including his driveway). Unfortunately, he doesn't record whats taking place, but he can watch his house over his computer while he is at work.

For some reason, I am lookin' for one is because, there's very high numbers of sex offenders around here. And, of course, I do have K-9 dog. I usually take her with me for outings and, I don't want her to be left alone in the house to guard my house. So, I am thinkin' about gettin' a security camera to take care of my house.
What do you think ? Your ideas/feedback would be appreciate.

Just my opinion, I would emphasize good door and window locks. Most important, remember to use the locks.
Don't open the door to strangers (check thru the peephole first).
Keep shrubs trimmed around doors and windows to prevent hiding places.
We have motion detector lights that come on if someone approaches our house.
Get to know your neighbors.
We use timers that turn lights and TVs off and on at different times.

Sorry, couldnt help it.
Anyways, all good ideas from others here. Cameras can easily be set up to be monitored thru computer, and if you wanted to, can backup recording onto CDs or DVDs. That is what some friends did for gas station they owned, instead of having professionals come and set security up. Much less expensive to do it yourself, and it's not too difficult.
Thanks for sharin' your feedbacks and suggestions. I apprecaite it. I will just go ahead and purchase a security camera sometime this week. I also have flood lights and it is already hooked up.![]()
I am just curious.
