Closed Threads

I bet a lot of people would love to put in their 2 cent before threads get locked up. They missed the opportunity. I know that I've missed the chance sometimes before threads get locked up.

I was going to add one for you Derek, but I didnt want to drag you into it...lol

I think the mods state it that way so it is understood that it was not a mod that didn't want the thread open. (They have to shut down some threads due to fighting or out-of-control, but otherwise it comes from the OP.)

There seems to be a bit of a misunderstanding. My question is do the mods ever turn down a closure request from an OP and leave the thread open?

I agree it is stated that way when they do close the thread so that we know the OP requested it.

as we can see...No.

Hit it on the nail, Beowulf...but I, for one...did not/do not enjoy someone berating and slandering any member as was done of so many of those threads.

I notice that threads get locked up frequently.

I don't blame on moderators for their action.

If the OP wants to close at thread, we can do that with no question asked. Sometimes if a thread gets out of hand, we lock it without saying anything as it can be obvious reason.

I know that you can close a thread at the OPs's request. But what I have been asking is do you and the other mods have the option to say NO to the OP and leave the thread open?

Why would the mods not close a thread at an OPs request?
How would you feel if you requested a thread you started be closed and the mods ignored your request?Especially if you felt others were bullying you in the thread?
