My New Cielo TV did not help with my CC

I have a new Cielo and I am still not getting CC on all the stations I watch . My son in law brought the TV and the salesman told him that TV have nothing to with the CC being on the stations , that is up to the cable company to have the CC. I was also surprise when Comcast told me they do not a code # for Cielo to program into their remote. When I went to the Comcast office the woman said there was code for ALL the brand of TV.
Is there any way to get CC on all the stations, can you buy something to hook up to your TV and have it CC on all the stations.
My TV remote does not have a mute button and I can no longer mute my TV . I knew the companies that have ads on TV where trying to get this to happen as they did not want people muting their commercials . I will have to turn my HA off instead.

I am upset that I still do not have CC on all stations .

The codes for remote is not there cause the tv is too new I would think. Give them time to add it or you can go through each codes till find one that works. Directions usually has that information on how to go through all codes.

As for CC, if there are channels that are working fine, it's not the TV.. it is the station. I may be wrong but cable has no control over CC. Only the station that is sending the broadcast to cable to be spread out to people are one that has control.

I called FCC , Federal Communications Commission and they told me that is was Comcast responsibility to have the stations have CC. You have to file a complaint against Comcast but that made no sense to me . If it's Comcast
responsibility in the first place , FCC should just tell them to take care of it instead of making people file a complaint.
 
:hmm:...I have Comcast also...don't have these problems....:hmm:...what shows are being telecast without CC's?...And have never seen a TV with the brand that you have...but since it's new....:hmm:

The shows has CC, they just are not showing up. So I am not sure if is Comcast fault or that my son in law does not know how to set it up so the CC come on.

OIC....feel sure a Comcast tech would solve this problem....and if you cannot find someone to help, I'd call Comcast....for only $4 a month extra, I can get unlimited techs to come out to help if needed, at no extra charge....

Could it be the remote?...could also get a Universal Remote to get the CC's...and for good measure...look on the back of ur TV and find the year it was manufactured....Just a suggestion here....

My son in law put the TV instruction booklet away and I will have to ask him where to put I as I can't find it. At least my CC is working better my son in law gave me my last TV and it was dying . I can't wait to watch NCIS tonight and have my CC .

"OIC"....is "Oh, I see"....I'm not familiar with the brand name of Cielo....and hope Comcast offers the same service to your area....as it does to mine.....Perhaps you could PM DieHardBiker ??....feel he would be willing to help walk you thru the remote steps....maybe even VP him if you have VP...

Hope somehow you get it working completely.
 
NOT enough info here . ok first off Cielo is an off brand for tv. second - if you have cable tv, do you have a cable box hooked up to TV? if so, does comcast in your area enable CC thru the cable box only? or can you use TV CC and did you turn it on and use the FIRST option for CC? each tv have their own words for which band etc.. to use for cc.

Yes, my TV is hooked up to the cable , I am getting CC on some stations but not on all the station and the show will say there is CC at the begin . It's weird , my son on law tried to use difference CC setting and he could not find one that worked with all the stations I watch.
 
ok you need to troubleshoot a bit more . You are getting some captions but not all . Can you check it on a different tv in same house? if it getting caption there but not on new one, then either the tv is the problem or the connection is. I'd move the tv to where your celia is hooked up to and try again . same problem? wire issue . if you are getting captions now on different tv on same connector then its new tv .
however if you still not getting caption shows on any tv but the show says it is captioned, ask a freind in neighborhood to prove it on same channel, and tv provider. if they have same issue, then its the station issue . if they do get caption, but you don't it becomes a bit sticky and may need to have wiring from pole to your home replace to eliminate the possible interference bad cable issue .

Did you test with OTHER TV?

I only have one TV . Thank you for your time on this, . I am not sure what you to do , I never had a TV like the one I have now so it's going to take me some time to know how to use it. I liked the old fashion TV better, I find the new TV to be hard on my eyes.

All depend on new TV. Some brand new TV still suck. I never heard of Cielo before. I would pick Samsung or LG and they rich color and very clear pictures than old. You can return your new TV back to store and buy other brand since you are not happy with it for your eyes.

My son in law picked the TV out and I never heard of Cielo . I would had brought a well know brand. I was not with my son in law , he brought it as he thought it was a good buy. CRAP ! Now you tell me this. Joking ! It was of nice of my son law to pick it up for me and set it up as he is very busy .

Before we buy, We always TEST all TVs first.. Some model of TV got CC at almost middle of screen (Here a pix) but other TV got CC at bottom of screen and both are exactly same channel. Some of them can't change size to large. So we picked right one as CC is bottom, change size/fonts/color/background, and right for your eyes.

Some of them can't change size to large. So we picked right one as CC is bottom, change size/fonts/color/background, and right for your eyes.

What show you are looking at also makes a difference where the captions appear.

For example there is a show called "It's Sew Easy" on the Create channel of PBS where the captions are always at the top of the screen when the sewing machine is being used so that they do not cover up where the sewing machine is.

My new TV CC seen to move around . I was watching a station called 'ME TV' on 292 and some weird numbers kept coming on instead of CC , they stayed on for about minute then went off . Weird ! I will have to keep the TV as it said right on the box ' Not to bring it back to the store' .

Walmart is on of the places that sells this brand. If purchased there, they will take back things even though they are labeled this way.
