Warning!! Power loss could lead to CO2 poisoning or death

This is sad, people should put generators in a well vented area away from windows and doors, a small leak to the inside can overcome anyone and make them sick or death.

Same concept with candles, some tragic fatal house fire caused by candles left unattended and too close to the object.
 
It is also sadden that many Deaf people don't have that luxury of safety that hearing people have. How many of you can afford these carbon monoxide alarm that has transmitter for Deaf? Don't forget CO2 alarm needs to be replaced between 5 and 10 years depending on manufacturer specs. None of these alarms for Deaf will work during power outrage unless you add back up UPS on it.

I have integrated alarm system, everything is tied up including carbon monoxide alarm and smoke alarm. The only problem that I have is when power goes out, so is the alarm system. Sucks!

And only idiots would run any Internal combustion engine indoor without proper and sufficient ventilation.
 
Those deaths were tragic and avoidable. :(

One of the places where I used to live has a flashing CO2 alarm, and that alerts deaf people there there's poisonous gas inside the house. Now, where I live now has both CO2 and Fire alarms intergrated together, so that's not an issue, but if we lost power during the winter, then yeah, it would be.

I agree; safety is important. That's why I posted this.
 
The bed shaker is underused/underavailable as an alarm tool for the deaf. I have dog allergy unfortunately. I would have a dog guaranteed otherwise. I love dogs. They love me. A good one is ready to help. A smart dog would know the flashing alarm making noise was something to be doggie saviour about.

What about a water dog like the President has two of? They are anti-allergy, I believe.
 
I saw this on the news tonight, 6 people dies so far. You would think the generators came with a huge warning on how to use it safely .
 
Just last year a group of hunters died, they had a small generator they put inside the camper, it was piped to the outside but during the night a snowstorm hit and buried the pipe so the exhaust couldnt get out... it basically did but being buried under the snow the fumes came back up inside the camper consuming them all while they slept.

How sad. People need to be careful when warming their cars up in the winter. If the car been backed into a parking space the exhaust pipe could blocked if the car been backed right into a snow bank . Some people will leave their kids or pets in the car while they're cleaning the snow off the car.
 
The way home construction drafts is similar to how a wood stove works. The air is pulled in through various cracks then it goes up to wherever there is an escape vent. Cold air to warm really moves into the home. So even a vehicle idling away to warm up outside the home can be a source of carbon monoxide being pulled into the home with the cold air. Then the fumes draft up. New homes are very tight with a system that moves the air in and out.
Up here I see lots of homes with the garage under the house. This is actually wrong and should not be allowed. How it came to be construction wise and to heat makes sense but what about the exhaust fumes?
While exhaust has some odor it gets diffused with air and becomes unnoticeable. Carbon monoxide has no odor. We get a lot more of this stuff into our bodies than we should. It does not detoxify out easily.
While there is obviously things not to do there is a lot of exposure that goes unnoticed building our toxin levels.
 
I forgot to mention, they had it all planned out to be fool proof and safe.... bad news is, the detector battery was dead.
