Amanda Knox retrial: Prosecutor calls for 30-year sentence

Italy can call for whatever sentence they like. The USA won't force Ms. Knox to attend retrial or honour any judgement. Even if the Italian Supreme Court finds her guilty, any extradition attempt will be bound to fail.

i'm no great believer in any sort of Beyond, but I hope that Ms. Knox gets the judgement she deserves.

In bold, that's true because of double jeopardy that forbidden under US constitution.

If Italy request an extradition so we should deliver a US constitution lesson to Italy - READ IT!!!
 
I'm agreed!! I'm sure Amanda would jail or not but her lawyer told Italy she not wanted testify about that..Meredith's parents wanted justice so badly!! And not so over!

I think you need history lesson - read US Constitution and research about what is double jeopardy means.

Italy isn't interested in our "rights" - neither is Pakistan, North Korea, South Korea, Russia, Panama, China, etc. I don't know why Americans think the world is impressed or intimadated by our constitution - they're not.

While she can't be forced to to fly there, she can still be tried and convicted just as CIA agents have been. Italy did convict three agents for abducting a terroist and removing him by force out of Italy where he was hiding. True, nothing will happen to these men since none will go to Italy now, it doesn't stop North Korea, Pakistan or China of conviting people in absence.

It remains to be seen whether she'll be able to build a life outside the court of public opinion here in the U.S., many of whom still believe she got away with murder.

Under extradition treaty between US and Italy, US isn't required to extradite Amanda Knox if they believe that violation of US constitution - double jeopardy, especially Amanda Knox is on US soil.

Do you know why Amanda Knox's conviction got thrown out in the court and now, other court ordered to have retrial? It is mess and I do not support to convict anyone who deemed to be innocent, especially lack of evidence. There are some ex-criminals were innocent because they went to trial based on bad evidence or lack of evidence.

There is good example about Zimmerman's charge with murder but acquitted because there weren't enough evidence to convict him with murder or manslaughter.

If anyone think Amanda Knox killed someone and if it is true so innocence project organization won't defend her at first place, but they do is look at DNA.
