Making Home Made Chicken Noodle Soup from scratch, god it smells so good, the whole house smells good. Boiling chicken in the broth with onions and garlic and other spices.... cant wait for it to be done and add noodles to cook and soak up the flavors. I wanted Dumplings but no one else likes them so just doing soup... Ill get my fill this winter with home made clam chowder...Mine, all Mine since no one likes that either...lol

I agree, I can never make them like mom or grandma did. My dad cooks gourmet and I love when he make clam chowder for me over the winter months...sooooon !!!!!

Yup, my mom used to make them on the wood stove in the winter. Nothing was better than coming in from the cold to homemade chicken and dumplings.

I haven't mastered dumplings yet but i'm getting pretty good with chowder and chilli :D

I usually do a homemade turkey noodle soup thanksgiving evening or the next day. Personally I like my soup better than the thanksgiving dinner ;) soooo much better than anything out of a can!!

My stepmother used to make me turkey noodle soup when I was a kid with noodles like circles.
Don't know if you can buy those anymore. But that's my homemade cooking memory...

Do you made your own noodles too? I made homemade chicken soup in the winter and put garlic in it too. Marty like it too.

One of my favorite homemade soup story is the time my dad was drunk and he took all the leftover food and put it in a blender then into a big pot. It was this horrible green color. Dad's younger brother was there and he kept telling my dad it was not going to work . Dad finally got fed up and said to him " is that a new hat you have, let me see your hat" Dad took the hat and dump the pot of soup into it!

My mom used to make home-made chicken matzoh ball soup and sweet Kugel all the time when I was a little kid.
