I am a curious person, just like I am taking a risk that i could be the one of those curiosity killed the cat. HA
In case if you dont know me, I grew up in a Deaf world and involved with Deaf community. Indeed, I grew up in a hearing world because of my hearing family. Now I have hearing kids, and work for hearing world.
anyway, I try so hard to understand some of you, who have not learn ASL or struggle to learn ASL or not interested in learning ASL. I do notice that some of you who often talk about finding it frustrating to communicate with hearing people, such as hearing friends, hearing family, hearing co workers, hearing teachers and go on due to having a difficulty time to grasp what they (hearing) are talking about. Or feeling so lonely, that no one understands you, or less friends or withdrawn and less social life. Yet, some of you who thinks Deaf community or Deaf culture that you do not agree with. WHILE Like me, I do not feel any lonely at all. I accepted who I am, and comfortable to use ASL to communicate. I often find a way to communicate with hearing people. I do have friends, of course I am not perfect. I assume I may not be a perfect friend to some of them. Who knows.
I often wonder if whose bitter or frustrating people adjust their attitude of opinioning better in a positive way toward to the Deaf world and will they no longer feel lonely?
