Rolling Stone 'rock star' treatment for accused Boston bomber?

Did anyone see this photo of the Boston bomber with the red target on his head?
Yes. There were at least a couple of photo's showing the laser dot on his head. If he had decided to do something stupid like detonate a bomb, the tactical shooter was ready to stop him immediately.

That is exactly what they're doing; they're not buying the issue.

No one is asking the government to censure the issue. People are free to buy the magazine on-line or in other stores. Rolling Stone is not prohibited by the government from publishing or selling the magazine.

So far, the government doesn't seem interested in protecting either soles or souls.

I'm all for reporting the facts on notorious people. The difference between your research paper and the magazine cover is that you weren't trying to make Hitler look like a sympathetic, handsome, innocent idol.

WOW ! I just loves how you try to twist my words around! I never said people are asking the "government to censure the issue" . So stop trying to put words in my mouth! I said if people keep complaining about articles they find offensive the government could feel that they have to step in and put bans on anything they feel people can't handle. If you have not notice we're being told what size drink you can buy in NY. That is coming from the Mayor of NY he part of the government . Parents in my city are being what they can pack in their kids school lunches . The government think the people are not smart enough to look out for themselves and if you do not see this
that is just what the government want! Did you the photo I posted of the Boston bomber with red bull eyes on his head . It's too bad that was not on the Rolling Stones cover .

NO Shit?? Really ?? WOW! As if I did not already know this!!

Wirelessly posted

I know CVS refused to sell that issue. It is the choice of the cooperations or stores if they want to sell it or not. People still have the freedom to buy it, just not at certain stores.

Heaven forbid! That is one thing I could never do. If I attempted to put words in your mouth I would be pulling back a stump.

Yes, I've noticed all the nanny no-no's that Mayor Bloomberg has been initiating, including his latest admonition to use the stairs instead of elevators.

Parents in my city are being what they can pack in their kids school lunches . The government think the people are not smart enough to look out for themselves and if you do not see this that is just what the government want!
I've been aware of this direction of the government for a long time, and of course I don't expect you to follow all my posts. :)

Yes, it's too bad.

When you posted this thread it gave the Boston bomber more attention . When people talk about the Rolling Stones cover they're doing just what the cover was meant to get people talking. And the more people talk the bomber it take attention away from the victims and they're the one people should be thinking about.

(For people not familiar with Dr. Hook, they were American rock, not rappers:)

The management at Rolling Stone don't care whether or not people get talking; they just want to sell magazines.

Apparently you've missed all the posts (with links) that I've made about the victims. That can happen when you focus on negativity and rage. It can blind you to the positives.

Here are some:

No one is forcing you to post in this thread. If it disturbs you, you can skip it.

(P.S. and out of all the businesses told to remain closed during the lockdown, the Police "allowed" Dunkin Donuts to stay open)

The coffee was offered free of charge... So it was a bribe? Hmmmm

So you don't like that we're giving attention to the bomber by us being upset at rollingstone giving "rock star" attention to the bomber? It's starting to get hard to keep track of

Now, I do have to admit, this is an interesting point. Could the board of health rule that the magazine is unhealthy or can cause mental health issues?

Not this issue. The government can do nothing about it due to the freedom of press so it's up to people to buy it or not.

McCain: Rolling Stone cover was

I do not see a reference to it there. Are you sure you linked the correct article?

The press uses free speach to facilitate freedom of the press. However, I do not believe written or electronic forms themselves are protected. Correct me if I am wrong.

Edit: At least, nobody brought it up at the last book burning.

The U.S. Constitution:

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Don't like Rolling Stone cover? Don't buy at all.

Capitalism at fine.

You have a freedom of speech and of the press but if death threats are mentioned, you will be arrested for making death threats regardless. Death threats are zero tolerance, even though you have a speech/press freedom.

Freedom of speech does not mean you can say what ever you want. For instance defamation of character is illegal as well as yelling fire in a theater.
