Anyone experienced the cramp in calf when you wake up at middle of night?

It happened to me about every few months after became adult but until last year, it is getting rare now. I don't have nocturnal leg cramp for almost one year now - it could be possibility from drinking a lot of liquid (5 water bottles - 85 oz total) or eat enough potassium.

It was painful and I was yelled very loud as attempt to comfort the muscle.

Yes, TCS and I occasionally get calf cramps. I usually pound on mine or hard massage it until it goes away.

My son was a very hyper-active little boy and he had those calve muscle cramps often, waking up in the middle of the night, crying with them...all I could do was massage and rub his calves. He finally outgrew them, but has very large and muscular calves to this day...

I also had them, and like Reba, I would pound and massage them, not being able to sleep...found out it was called restless leg syndrome.....haven't had them in quite a long time now...(knock on wood).

Do you sit for extended periods? Try a short walk, contractions, and stretch to help circulation. This is useful for non-medical conditions.

Were you asking me?....If so...oh no...I was always very active and on my feet, even a runner at one time and worked out with free weights....Not as active as I was before (as old age sucks)...:giggle:...but haven't had those leg cramps in a long time now.

No, I'm active, I walk a lot everyday.

I had one last week. Very painful. Ended up with a uncle strain that lasted about 4 days.

especially "deaf" --> "dead" :roll:

mine won't autocorrect that, because it's not misspelled, it's just misused :D the d and f are right beside each other, I wish my phone would recognize that the would word dead is not the one I wanted to type!!!

I wish I wouldn't get d & f mixed up when I'm finger spelling. :giggle:

:hmm:...to say "I pulled my calf muscle"...but saying...."I've pulled both my....calf's OR calves muscle" (plural)...??

If you're talk about one calf, it's calf, 2 (or more) calves is the plural of calf.....kind of like shelf/shelves leaf/leaves

is it "calf" or "calve"?
In noun form, calf is singular, calves are plural.

One calf (singular) gets cramps (plural) over a period of time.

Calve (no "s") is a verb, not a noun. It means when a cow gives birth, or when a large iceberg splits off into smaller ones.
