SCOTUS decision on Prop 8

Agreed. The country is lost and I don't think it will ever recover. I am hoping this will lead to a separation.

It already happened before - I expected some states will ignore to highest court ruling if they allow gay marriage to all states.

In 60 years ago, the highest court ruled about school segregation was unconstitutional but many southern states ignored to court ruling until 1960's and 1970's that where federal officials forced state to comply with court ruling.

New next goal: marriage allow on animal-human. Then, I'm get off this planet anyway.

Actually, the court didn't rule on gay marriage here. They struck down a provision that allowed Fed government to ignore married couples in states where gay marriage is legal. So, at least for now it is perfectly legal for states to ban gay marriage. But it is not ok for Feds to deny benefits to SSCs who live in states where it is legal. I totally support that. Marriage SHOULD be a State's Rights issue.

hope the good news continues with more barriers coming down!

I said "if".

I'm saying - if US Supreme Court decides to side with gay rights that strike gay marriage ban down in all states so I expect some states, especially southern states - Alabama, Texas, Mississippi, Georgia, etc to ignore the court ruling like they did to court ruling on school segregation.

I perfectly understand about court detail on Prop 8 and DOMA so I don't need you to restatement to me.

Prop 8 has no standing so we don't hear any court opinion on constitutionality of gay marriage yet. It is much possible with other rounds in near future.

For me, I personally want gay marriage legal in all states.

Prop 8 has no standing.

Actually the ruling was that the people who filed suit had no standing... It is possible, although unlikely, for that to change.

But yes there will most likely be state that will refuse to allow gay marriage and that will most likely be one of the factors leading to a civil war many years from now.

Your statement in bold is confused.

We will see a court ruling on constitutionality of gay marriage ban in near future - I prefer Mississippi or Alabama to be targeted because I don't want Governor Brown to get into ugly situation to support anti-gay marriage to get standing in the court.

Civil war? I'm seriously doubt it.

I don't. Probably many years from now though.

There is cool news in my state.

I know about there are plenty of conservative and independent young people support gay rights in my state. :)

If anyone think Alabama is backward state - look at Russia that where gay rally is illegal, numerous hate against gay people and very small number of people support gay marriage - that's much worse than our state and rest of southern states.

You are free to join gay rally in Huntsville but in Moscow, you can be arrested and prosecuted in Russian court.

If you are going to stay in Marriotts you better get a really good paying job.

Great they are caring for their employees. Sadly though many will drop coverage now..

Sure, I stayed at Marriott in NoVA twice with my families and it was great time. It will be part of my plan when trip to Orlando next year. Sleep in hotel is expensive, of course and we got some good deal. :)

What kind of coverage they dropped? health insurance? *****care?

I'm not promoting secession but I expect the overall decline of our country will continue at an accelerated rate. :(

I respect your opinion.

Under my vision, I believe that our country is evolving as usual with positive and negative thing. US isn't alone because many countries are changing a lot too.

It is mixed of good and bad side for me.

I understand. It would be my last resort hope as well. But I don't think this place gets turned around. 2014 looks like a disaster economically. Worse than 2008-09
