For all of you AD car-freaks...!!!

Nice design. How can it takeoff without engine? Like Albatross flapping to takeout. I understand it can landing and flying without engine necessarily.

Well, I read and said most fighter jets has limited gliding abilities. In other words, older fighter jet has better gliding abilities than newer ones.
you missed this part - "the more unstable a fighter jet is, the more maneuverable it is. if you take out turbine jet from F-22 and put on the most powerful turboprop... it won't even be able to take off."

Yes I am aware of older fighter jets being able to "glide" in a limited way but why are we talking about some Cold War planes? it's irrelevant. it doesn't exist anymore. it's in Smithsonian museum.

I haven't found information about stealth fighter. I remember that it has almost zero gliding abilities without engine.
good that you can't find any information about it! it's classified! lol!

Stealth fighter was nickname as "Hopeless" because of design making it almost impossible to glide or fly but they figured out.
yes. they figured it out. how? it has dozens of computer chips and sensors to correct itself.

My dad rode on that one. It is done by tandem. To start the fun, that glider needs to hitch to another plane that have engine to make the lift. Its like truck hauling trailer. Once in right altitude, they get disconnect so that glider can go gliding. Just like as if trailer got disconnected from truck, trailer won't stop the motion right away, right? The only difference is that trailer can't navigate and will crash.

Here is video that would help you understand how to start the glider

Cool! I never thought of that.

Thank you.

Also worth noting that there are APU/APGS to power the control systems in the event the engines are out.

Wow, I'm surprised no one else paid attention to my post. I already experienced flying in a glider towed by a twin propellor plane. Guess some people are too lazy to read the posts before asking questions.

no, i saw your post, count me in, i did read it, and I actually want to go gliding at end of this year - after completing a research paper (hence a HOLIDAY BREAK!)

I was talking about highlander asked a question when he didn't read my post. :-P

Lot of forums require you to research BEFORE asking any questions. I doubt they do it in Alldeaf but maybe they do it to save on bandwidth.

I rather Hanging glider than this glider your guys been talking. Its equilvent of flying with motorcycle.

Hopefully will achieve that dream within few years. I know where to start just that money is the issue.

How about this one? Looks like fun. I don't think I can fly a plane in real life, lol.

Been there and done that in California. :) Very smooth floating in the air with no engine. It was towed by a double propellor plane to the height where it was released.

Don't noticed that. Sorry. No, I don't ignored your post. :slap:
