Is anyone of you who ever made it before.


I learned that it needs almond extract. I wonder if i can skip almond extract and make it double with vanilla extract that would tastes FINE?


I have plenty of recipes for it. BUT i will go to a store this weekend to buy almond extract if no conflict plans. I want to have it so i would feel better that i will use my aunt's recipe. My mom's best friend, who they met long time ago before they had us and my cousins. My aunt was the coolest aunt. She was part of german. I admit that if i skip the almond extract then i would not feel right making this without aunt's recipe.

with almond extract in it or without it? i know it does not make difference since you hate pound cake. lol



I love pound cake for many years. i did eat pound cake with almond extract in it and good but i can taste it. I hope i double vanilla extract and it will tastes yummy that matches to my tongue. ha

it is asian japanese noodles called somen. its similar to udon very large noodles, thick like size of gummy worm. heres what they look like

i saw some trader joes expanded in PA, maybe it will move up to NYS soon?
 
I don't think it usually uses almond extract. Just vanilla. That may be your aunt's own peculiar twist.

I often like using orange extract instead of vanilla, and nobody knows that, but they usually think it is great.

Thanks for your input. I did read some magazines that some people uses orange extract or zest lemon. I did check google and there have almond exract in pound cake. But there are too many different flavored type for pound cake. I just follow what my aunts recipe except doubt vanilla extract. Wait and see. Thanks so much!
 
Stollen is grerman cake popular at christmas,the pic looks like one
