I just learned from history about income tax rate was very high and there was high inflation in 70's. There was nice about one in 70's, the cost of living between Mississippi and California weren't much difference, but today, California is more expensive than in Mississippi.

I was born during 80's, so it was known as crack epidemic, high homicide rate, lack of understand with AIDS/HIV, ending of Cold War, military dictatorship in South America and recession.

Disney Channel was premium channel in 80's and it was one of best channel that I had.

Chicken pox was very common disease for children in 80's.

Brady Law started in 1994 so that where highest murder rate started level off after 1992 LA riot so murder rate has went down to 1960's level in most cities, so I think you means more anti-gun laws from local that put effect on murder rate, so other blame is problem with society and drugs (like you said DEA, Nixon, ugh!!!).

Now, Brady Law is expired, however federal background check still remain.
 
You need to look at the murder rates of today and whether gun laws are in place.
 
Those states with least gun restrictions have the lowest murder rates compared to those states with stringent gun control got the highest murder rate.

When our manufacturing sector was exported we lost not just the good paying jobs we also lost the payments into the SSI system that went with those jobs. All of that money is now in the pockets of the wealthy who operate companies outside of the U.S. and ship the goods that we used to make in to us. One of the key things that is missing in this conversation is that in the 70's when we had a huge amount of bang for our buck we also had an entirely different market place. Where now everything is made in Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mexico, China, Thailand etc., then it was all made in America.
It has taken a very long time to destroy the strongest economic engine on the planet but the paid off and misguided politicians have managed to do to it. Now we will be scrambling for survival and the super rich corporate owners that mostly we do not even know who they are- they are doing just fine using our political process for their benefit in the most callous way mostly from overseas with the largest portion of our future SSI in their pockets.

Your claim is disputed, however it is only true for states with smaller population.

Look at California vs. Louisiana, so Louisiana is very gun friendly state and California is very least gun friendly state, but Louisiana has higher homicide rate than in California.

Partially true, but what I just learn is that computer and machine is also one that is taking over workers too. More and more manufacturers are using automated system which effectively kills plenty of positions.
Companies now prefers computers and automated system, cause it is CHEAP to operate, they don't call in sick, they don't need vacation and if they break, sure fix it and get back on operation faster than sick workers. Finally, the production output is much greater than if all done by human.

This is partly due to future bleak outlook for these who are just non-skilled workers. And no US presidents or any US government can do anything about these job outsourcing. I think it has to do with treaty of 1783 that US signed in France with Britain. It includes free trade with any country, because one of condition for independence from Great Britain is free trade. I don't think China has any kind of treaty with US, so US is technically stuck with it.

If the congress fails to pass the deal to curb the fiscal cliff so they will held as accountable, however if it does clear via the congress but president veto it so will held the president as accountable.
 
Not necessarily true. There is balance in power there, so right now everybody is pointing fingers at each other. They all are in Kindergarten!

I do understand, point is sometimes president veto for damn good reason or stupid reason. Same with congress, they could pass damn good law or stupid law.

President can NOT make the law, only congress can, and president either accept that proposal or decline it. Its been like that for, ahem when was the last time George Washington paid visit dentist office?

I already know that president doesn't have power to make any laws so they are not ultimately responsible to make a budget plan, however the president may only give a suggestion like say... please don't cut the education.

Also, that why you have election every 2 years, especially even years like 1980, 1982, 1984, 1986, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, etc, however bold is presidential election). If the congress did nothing for 2 years so you have chance to unseat them, but that's not promise because sometime, some Americans prefer to have corrupted congress to stay in seat.
