In a dog pack that's a greeting of love and being so favorite.

In a human household, dogs can be taught that a proper greeting is to sit and wait for the person to notice them.

That said, I love being greeted like part of the pack .

i like to know why they hump peoples legs and why sametime everyday the dog humps...i hate humping dogs....

My old dog, doberman loved to nibble on my back over and over. OUCHIE! i got several red spots all over on my back. LOL That showed that he loved me.

I visited others house whose have doggies. They still nibs my arms. :mad2:

think i worded that wrong.what meant say is i hate dogs humping my leg

My doggie for awhile, whenever company came over...she would hump her teddy bear....quite embarrassing you know?....But everybody thought it was hilarious!...

Finally I took the teddy bear away and she stopped....I'm guessing it was because she wanted "full attention" ??....

She does "nip" at people's leg if she doesn't like them...my good friend came over last week and didn't bring her dog "Oliver", which is my doggie's buddy...so my doggie got "mad" and nipped her leg...she then went to her silk pillow and pouted!,,She was really mad....

Interesting. Most of small dogs do nip peoples legs if they dont like. Some idiot peeps thought small sized dogs are nothing. So the idiot person to get close to dog. of course dog nipped faces lips or cheek.

Many people are afraid of small dogs than they are of large dogs.....I dunno why :giggle:...they are pretty fast on their feet tho'...

Used to have a dachound, and a German Shepard came running up...my doggie growled and the German Shepard was shocked and ran away with his tail under his butt....

Because dogs think that you're the greatest thing to walk the face of the earth and they love you unconditionally for gracing them with your time. It's a wonderful feeling to have an animal think you're the best thing since Mom's apple pie just for entering a room...that's why 'Dog' is 'God' spelled backwards...they're special!

My dog likes to jump all over visitors (or even just me coming back inside). I'm still working with him on his jumping on people habit. He's part jack russell so it's tricky. He just doesn't need to be jumping all over people though. He likes to jump onto their laps and get as much attention as possible from people too, it's funny and kind of annoying haha.
