Tango is an app on both Android and iPhone. If FaceTime is a problem, then switch to Tango?

My wife has iPhone, but she uses Tango and Skype.

She only uses FaceTime with her grandmother (who's too stubborn and technologically inept to use other 2-way video apps).

I think it is more about the principle of it, rather than which software is being used. However, you've got a point. Tango is available as an alternative that hearing and deaf both can use.

But AT&T Shared Data Plan includes FaceTime over cellular only. Too expensive. TAP plan doesn't support this plan.

That right. AT&T customers got stuck on these plans. They are frustrating what AT&T saying as well as deaf users do. AT&T's software do nothing on the facetime at this time.
 
I found Sprint blog about FaceTime over cellular on Sprint iPhone 5.

Sprint today (Sept. 12) announced details regarding the iPhone 5, including availability and price. As announced by Apple, the device can be preordered on Sprint.com starting at 12:01 AM Pacific Time on Friday, September 14, with delivery and in-store availability scheduled for September 21. Additionally, Sprint reiterated that the iPhone 5 will continue to have access to truly unlimited data. Sprint CEO Dan Hesse said, "We are proud to offer Truly Unlimited data to iPhone customers so they can enjoy everything iPhone 5 has to offer on our 4G LTE network." That includes FaceTime over cellular. Sprint's unlimited plans start at $79.99, and Sprint said customers won't have to worry about throttling, metering, or overages. AT&T is only offering FaceTime over cellular to customers who join its Mobile Share plans.

But LTE network is not all metro cities till next year.

Sprint has a fewer LTE towers right now. For iphone 5, I will wait out until I make a decision. Either I stay with AT&T or switch to Verizon or Sprint.

FCC? I don't know about how they control and it will be tough luck if FCC has more pro-business repenstatives on board. Anything changes because of pro-business party in the congress.

Whoa, I thought sprint will late release iPhone 5 until next year. Just like Sprint iPhone 4S late release since last March. yaya, I'm ready to get iphone 5.
 
My prediction: att will face lawsuit from the customers for facetime blockage. Just watch.

Do you realize what mean TAP? Spell it out, if you check out, it is short for "TEXT ACCESSIBILITY PLAN", this plan means text messaging, AIM, e mail, etc no video, no picture no voice, just plain text. If it were VAP then we can challenge it, but we can not challenge no way not even in court room because Face time is NOT a text format, it is Video format. Its sad that Deafies like you got real misunderstand what TAP is all about.

Study whats difference between Text and video, please don't make yourself fool.

With AT&T own high powered attorney, it is not winnable. They will say, Face time is not text so it is not applicable, case closed.
