Proving who you are!

Thanks guys, I did not want to assume anything about a condition I do not know anything about which is why I posted the question. I Thought that some of you may have come across situations where the primary channel of engagement was telephone, with either no fall-back situation, or maybe a textphone / email service that was never manned. Other than Bornmellow and his experiences with the relay services it sounds like I can focus on other disabilities. Jonathan

I was also wondering what experience you had of Voice Authentication technologies? Maybe the lack of inflection is some deaf people’s voice would prevent the algorithms creating a good enough ‘speech pattern’, or maybe the software would falsely authenticate other authenticate the wrong deaf person due to similarities in the way they speak? . . .also . . . what’s with the castle references?

I tried to enter new password....Penis
Got error message...
"Your password is too short"

Mmmm....

Jonny..you got my password.....

Since we are deaf, we don't use Voice Authentication technology. We have something even better, it is called MRT, which stands for Methane Recognition Technology, a highly sophisticated device that samples our flatulence to prove who we are. Since we deaf people are unable to speak out of our mouths, we communicate through our rectums. The MRT not only proves who we are, but it can also interpret what we are saying by the different frequencies our flatulence creates.

As for the castle references, in London and the surrounding areas, there are big mansions constructed of boulders, which are called 'castles' because that is where we get our famous White Castle hamburgers. Have you tried one of their burgers?

Are you serious about this, really? I mean, it's a no brainer to recognize and dentate the difference of a deaf person's voice and an hearing person's voice. However, with the technology trying to come up with the caliber of being able to authenticate the voice from a deaf person would be virtually impossible.

I yam who I am...

almost

Popeye's awesome!

Jolie77 – Would it? I don’t know – certainly speech recognition may struggle (have any of you tried Siri on the iPhone? … Does it work for you?), but from what I read voice authentication is as much driven by size of lungs, shape of mouth, etc so it may work just as well for a deaf person as a hearing persons. I have spent a couple of hours not looking for some research on this, and as far as I can tell there is none.
Green 421: I am also looking at body odor biometrics … Big area if research at the moment, I am sure you could sell your MRT technology for a lot of money to the security companies!
