Have a garage door opener? Don't forget it!!!!

My girlfriend got her car sold. She was cleaning it out. When she got it sold, she realized that she forgot her garage door opener. You know that your address is on car title when you sell it to buyer.

Anyone would buy car, see garage door opener, then look at title and think hey, carpe diem!!!! I can steal stuffs out of the garage when no one is looking.

Garage door opener may not be worth a lot itself, but think of "perks" that other people may enjoy with your goods.

We had to go to sellers house to pick up the garage door. It was in an area surrounded by mobile homes. A lot of people living in a small space. My girlfriend felt a little bit uncomfortable in the area, but we had my rottweiler so she felt safer. Yes, we did get the garage door opener.
 
That makes me think about cars that have built-in garage door openers. I guess their programs should be cleared if the car is sold.

Wow, I did not know of any cars that have built in garage door!! Interesting!! That is something new to me. I know the car technology is always changing.

Our 2006 Jeep Commander has a built-in door opener. I know that many other cars and mini-vans have them also.
 
Many older garage door openers has a dip switch you can change codes to so that would be the first thing I changed. The newer ones have intellicode technoolgy. What I would do is grab all the ones you DO have and do the programming of all of those remotes and it will "forget the old one"
 
My dad sold cars for a living (new & used) and some of the things that people left in traded in cars and never claimed included salt & pepper shakers and a TEL-TRU baby's room thermometer. I still have both well over 50 years later!

Inspires me to make a different thread on stuffs that were found in car. I saw something like that on a Jeep website I visited some years ago.

Good idea.

We have two clip-on remotes, one built-in, one keychain, and one outdoor keypad attached to the door frame of the garage.
